² And all the men of Israel assembled to King Solomon at ^(A)the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

³⁴ “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, ^(A)On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths^[a] to the Lord.

⁸ At that time Solomon held the feast for seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from ^(A)Lebo-hamath to the ^(B)Brook of Egypt. ⁹ And on the eighth day they held a solemn assembly, for they had kept the dedication of the altar seven days and the feast seven days. ¹⁰ On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their homes, joyful and glad of heart for the prosperity^[a] that the Lord had granted to David and to Solomon and to Israel his people.

Rivers of Living Water

^37 (A)On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ^(B)“If anyone thirsts, let him ^(C)come to me and drink.

² Now ^(A)the Jews' Feast of ^(B)Booths was at hand.

¹⁶ Then everyone who survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem ^(A)shall go up year after year to worship ^(B)the King, the Lord of hosts, and ^(C)to keep ^(D)the Feast of Booths. ¹⁷ And if ^(E)any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship ^(F)the King, the Lord of hosts, ^(G)there will be no rain on them. ¹⁸ And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;^[a] there shall be ^(H)the plague with which the Lord afflicts the nations that do not go up ^(I)to keep the Feast of Booths. ¹⁹ This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up ^(J)to keep the Feast of Booths.

¹⁴ And they found it written in the Law that the Lord had commanded by Moses ^(A)that the people of Israel should dwell in booths^[a] during the feast of the seventh month, ¹⁵ and that they should proclaim it and ^(B)publish it in all their towns and ^(C)in Jerusalem, “Go out to the hills and bring ^(D)branches of olive, wild olive, myrtle, palm, and other leafy trees to make booths, as it is written.” ¹⁶ So the people went out and brought them and made booths for themselves, each ^(E)on his roof, and in their courts and in the courts of the house of God, and in the square at ^(F)the Water Gate and in the square at ^(G)the Gate of Ephraim. ¹⁷ And all the assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day ^(H)the people of Israel had not done so. And there was ^(I)very great rejoicing. ¹⁸ And day by day, from the first day to the last day, ^(J)he read from the Book of the Law of God. They kept the feast seven days, and ^(K)on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly, according to the rule.

^4 (A)And they kept the Feast of Booths, ^(B)as it is written, ^(C)and offered the daily burnt offerings by number according to the rule, as each day required,

³ And all the men of Israel assembled before the king at the feast that is in the seventh month.
