²¹ Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.

¹⁴ He made the curtain^(A) of blue, purple and crimson yarn and fine linen, with cherubim^(B) worked into it.

¹⁵ For the front of the temple he made two pillars,^(C) which together were thirty-five cubits^[a] long, each with a capital^(D) five cubits high. ¹⁶ He made interwoven chains^[b](E) and put them on top of the pillars. He also made a hundred pomegranates^(F) and attached them to the chains.

⁷ He overlaid the ceiling beams, doorframes, walls and doors of the temple with gold, and he carved cherubim^(A) on the walls.

⁸ He built the Most Holy Place,^(B) its length corresponding to the width of the temple—twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide. He overlaid the inside with six hundred talents^[a] of fine gold. ⁹ The gold nails^(C) weighed fifty shekels.^[b] He also overlaid the upper parts with gold.

⁵ Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.^(A)

³⁴ They overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. They also overlaid the crossbars with gold.

³² Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.^{(A) 33} Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the covenant law behind the curtain.^(B) The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.^(C)
