¹² So the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, just as he had promised. And Hiram and Solomon made a formal alliance of peace.

¹² I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have!

⁹ This is what the Lord says:

⁵ If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

¹² I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future!”

³² After making their covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech left with Phicol, the commander of his army, and they returned home to the land of the Philistines.

²⁹ God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore.
