^12 (A)behold, I have done according to your words; ^(B)see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.

Confidence and Compassion in Prayer

¹⁴ Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that ^(A)if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. ¹⁵ And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

¹⁶ I communed with my heart, saying, “Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained ^(A)more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has ^[a]understood great wisdom and knowledge.”

¹² So the Lord gave Solomon wisdom, ^(A)as He had promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.

²³ So ^(A)King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

²⁴ Now all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For ^(A)we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but ^(B)the Spirit Himself makes intercession ^[a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. ²⁷ Now ^(C)He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints ^(D)according to the will of God.

²⁸ And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw that the ^(A)wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.

^3 (A)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom ^(A)which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or ^[a]resist.

^42 (A)The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.
