²⁰ Ahab said to Elijah, ^(A)“Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because ^(B)you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord.

¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, ^(A)sold under sin.

^17 (A)And they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings^[a] and used ^(B)divination and ^(C)omens and ^(D)sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

Ahab's Repentance

²⁵ (^(A)There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited.

¹⁷ When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, ^(A)“Is it you, you ^(B)troubler of Israel?”

¹⁰ and ^(A)those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and ^(B)exchange presents, because these two prophets ^(C)had been a torment to those who dwell on the earth.

³ For thus says the Lord: ^(A)“You were sold for nothing, and ^(B)you shall be redeemed without money.”

¹⁹ They ^(A)have become callous and ^(B)have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.

¹⁶ Have I then become your enemy by ^(A)telling you the truth?^[a]

¹² And ^(A)they were seeking to arrest him ^(B)but feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they ^(C)left him and went away.
