³⁵ The king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the army, and the king put ^(A)Zadok the priest in the place of ^(B)Abiathar.

²⁷ So Solomon removed Abiathar from being priest to the Lord, that he might ^(A)fulfill the word of the Lord which He spoke concerning the house of Eli at Shiloh.

²² So they ate and drank before the Lord with great gladness on that day. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and ^(A)anointed him before the Lord to be the leader, and Zadok to be priest.

³ Then David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and ^(A)Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to the schedule of their service.

⁴ Eleazar begot Phinehas, and Phinehas begot Abishua; ⁵ Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi; ⁶ Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth; ⁷ Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub; ^8 (A)Ahitub begot ^(B)Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz; ⁹ Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan; ¹⁰ Johanan begot Azariah (it was he ^(C)who ministered as priest in the ^(D)temple^[a] that Solomon built in Jerusalem); ^11 (E)Azariah begot ^(F)Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub; ¹² Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot ^[b]Shallum; ¹³ Shallum begot Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begot Azariah; ¹⁴ Azariah begot ^(G)Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak. ¹⁵ Jehozadak went into captivity ^(H)when the Lord carried Judah and Jerusalem into captivity by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
