Elisha Follows Elijah

¹⁹ So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his ^(A)mantle on him.

⁸ Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and ^(A)it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ^(B)ground.

¹³ He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan. ¹⁴ Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, ^(A)it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.

¹⁴ So he said to her, “What is his form?”

And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is covered with ^(A)a mantle.” And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground and bowed down.

Four Fishermen Called as Disciples^(A)

^18 (B)And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon ^(C)called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. ¹⁹ Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and ^(D)I will make you fishers of men.”

^5 (A)But he will say, ‘I am no prophet, I am a farmer; for a man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.’

¹³ So it was, when Elijah heard it, that ^(A)he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. ^(B)Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Gideon

¹¹ Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash ^(A)the Abiezrite, while his son ^(B)Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.
