³⁶ And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord ^(A)God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, ^(B)let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that ^(C)I have done all these things at Your word.

²⁹ And when midday was past, ^(A)they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was ^(B)no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention.

⁶ Moreover He said, ^(A)“I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for ^(B)he was afraid to look upon God.

⁴³ hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, ^(A)that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and ^(B)fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name.

¹⁹ Now therefore, O Lord our God, I pray, save us from his hand, ^(A)that all the kingdoms of the earth may ^(B)know that You are the Lord God, You alone.”

²⁸ And Moses said: ^(A)“By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them ^(B)of my own will. ²⁹ If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are ^(C)visited by the common fate of all men, then the Lord has not sent me. ³⁰ But if the Lord creates ^(D)a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they ^(E)go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the Lord.”

¹⁴ For this reason I bow my knees to the ^(A)Father ^[a]of our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁷ that ^(A)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, ^(B)may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
