⁵ So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.

¹⁴ You are my friends^(A) if you do what I command.^(B)

²⁴ Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.^(A)

⁹ There he went into a cave^(A) and spent the night.

The Lord Appears to Elijah

And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”^(B)
