^14 (A)“Moreover the Lord will raise up for Himself a king over Israel who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam; ^[a]this is the day. What? Even now!

^27 (A)Then Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him. And Baasha killed him at ^(B)Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, while Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon. ²⁸ Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place. ²⁹ And it was so, when he became king, that he killed all the house of Jeroboam. He did not leave to Jeroboam anyone that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according to ^(C)the word of the Lord which He had spoken by His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

³ By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction ^[a]does not slumber.

⁹ Do not ^[a]grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be ^[b]condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!

²² “Son of man, what is this proverb that you people have about the land of Israel, which says, ^(A)‘The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’? ²³ Tell them therefore, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will lay this proverb to rest, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel.” ’ But say to them, ‘ ^(B)“The days are at hand, and the ^[a]fulfillment of every vision. ²⁴ For ^(C)no more shall there be any ^(D)false^[b] vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel. ²⁵ For I am the Lord. I speak, and ^(E)the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and ^(F)perform it,” says the Lord God.’ ”

²⁶ Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ^27 (G)“Son of man, look, the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is ^(H)for many days from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’ ^28 (I)Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “None of My words will be postponed any more, but the word which I speak ^(J)will be done,” says the Lord God.’ ”

² “And you, son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel:

^11 (A)Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
