⁸ But the man of God said to the king, “If you give me half your kingdom, I will not go in with you, nor will I eat food or drink water in this place.^(A)

¹³ ‘If Balak should give me his house full of silver and gold, I would not be able to go beyond the word of the Lord, to do either good or bad of my own will; what the Lord says, that is what I will say’?^(A)

¹⁸ But Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, “Although Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the command of the Lord my God, to do less or more.^(A)

⁹ And when I was with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for my needs were supplied by the brothers who came from Macedonia. So I refrained and will continue to refrain from burdening you in any way.^{(A) 10} As the truth of Christ is in me, this boast of mine will not be silenced in the regions of Achaia.^(B)

²³ And he swore^[a] to her, “Whatever you ask me, I will give you, even half of my kingdom.”^(A)

¹¹ If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, as you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them.”

²⁶ But he said to him, “Did I not go with you in spirit when someone left his chariot to meet you? Is this a time to accept silver and to accept clothing, olive orchards and vineyards, sheep and oxen, and male and female slaves?^{(A) 27} Therefore the skin disease of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he left his presence diseased, as white as snow.^(B)

¹⁶ But he said, “As the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will accept nothing!” He urged him to accept, but he refused.^(A)

¹⁶ But he said, “I cannot return with you or go in with you, nor will I eat food or drink water with you in this place,^{(A) 17} for it was said to me by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat food or drink water there or return by the way that you came.’ ”^(B)

² You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his land.^(A)
