³² Jeroboam ^[a]ordained a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, like ^(A)the feast that was in Judah, and offered sacrifices on the altar. So he did at Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he had made. ^(B)And at Bethel he installed the priests of the high places which he had made.

Amaziah’s Complaint

¹⁰ Then Amaziah the ^(A)priest of ^(B)Bethel sent to ^(C)Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to ^[a]bear all his words. ¹¹ For thus Amos has said:

¹² Then Amaziah said to Amos:

⁵ Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, ^(A)sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

² Therefore all the men of Israel assembled with King Solomon at the ^(A)feast in the month of ^[a]Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

Offerings at the Feast of Tabernacles^(A)

^12 (B)‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work, and you shall keep a feast to the Lord seven days. ^13 (C)You shall present a burnt offering, an offering made by fire as a sweet aroma to the Lord: thirteen young bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs in their first year. They shall be without blemish. ¹⁴ Their grain offering shall be of fine flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an ephah for each of the thirteen bulls, two-tenths for each of the two rams, ¹⁵ and one-tenth for each of the fourteen lambs; ¹⁶ also one kid of the goats as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.

¹⁷ ‘On the ^(D)second day present twelve young bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs in their first year without blemish, ¹⁸ and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, by their number, ^(E)according to the ordinance; ¹⁹ also one kid of the goats as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering with its grain offering, and their drink offerings.

²⁰ ‘On the third day present eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs in their first year without blemish, ²¹ and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, by their number, ^(F)according to the ordinance; ²² also one goat as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.

²³ ‘On the fourth day present ten bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs in their first year, without blemish, ²⁴ and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the ordinance; ²⁵ also one kid of the goats as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.

²⁶ ‘On the fifth day present nine bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs in their first year without blemish, ²⁷ and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the ordinance; ²⁸ also one goat as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.

²⁹ ‘On the sixth day present eight bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs in their first year without blemish, ³⁰ and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the ordinance; ³¹ also one goat as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.

³⁵ ‘On the eighth day you shall have a ^(G)sacred^[a] assembly. You shall do no customary work. ³⁶ You shall present a burnt offering, an offering made by fire as a sweet aroma to the Lord: one bull, one ram, seven lambs in their first year without blemish, ³⁷ and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bull, for the ram, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the ordinance; ³⁸ also one goat as a sin offering, besides the regular burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.

³⁹ ‘These you shall present to the Lord at your ^(H)appointed feasts (besides your ^(I)vowed offerings and your freewill offerings) as your burnt offerings and your grain offerings, as your drink offerings and your peace offerings.’ ”

⁴⁰ So Moses told the children of Israel everything, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

^8 (A)When they set their threshold by My threshold, and their doorpost by My doorpost, with a wall between them and Me, they defiled My holy name by the abominations which they committed; therefore I have consumed them in My anger.

The Feast of Tabernacles^(A)

³³ Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ³⁴ “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ^(B)‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord. ³⁵ On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. ³⁶ For seven days you shall offer an ^(C)offering made by fire to the Lord. ^(D)On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a ^(E)sacred^[a] assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.

^37 (F)‘These are the feasts of the Lord which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering and a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, everything on its day— ^38 (G)besides the Sabbaths of the Lord, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings which you give to the Lord.

³⁹ ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have ^(H)gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the Lord for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest. ⁴⁰ And ^(I)you shall take for yourselves on the first day the ^[b]fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; ^(J)and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. ^41 (K)You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. ^42 (L)You shall dwell in ^[c]booths for seven days. ^(M)All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, ^43 (N)that your generations may ^(O)know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when ^(P)I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.’ ”

⁴⁴ So Moses ^(Q)declared to the children of Israel the feasts of the Lord.
