²⁷ If these people ^(A)go up to offer sacrifices in the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn back to their lord, Rehoboam king of Judah, and they will kill me and go back to Rehoboam king of Judah.”

⁶ but at the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide, there you shall sacrifice the Passover ^(A)at twilight, at the going down of the sun, at the time you came out of Egypt.

¹⁴ but in the place which the Lord chooses, in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you.

⁵ “But you shall seek the ^(A)place where the Lord your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His ^(B)dwelling^[a] place; and there you shall go. ^6 (C)There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the ^(D)firstborn of your herds and flocks. ⁷ And ^(E)there you shall eat before the Lord your God, and ^(F)you shall rejoice in ^[b]all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which the Lord your God has blessed you.

¹⁹ For it is written:

^20 (B)Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the ^[a]disputer of this age? ^(C)Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

³² (but he shall have one tribe for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel),

⁴⁴ “When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You send them, and when they pray to the Lord toward the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name,

²⁹ that Your eyes may be open toward this ^[a]temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ^(A)‘My name shall be ^(B)there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes ^(C)toward this place. ^30 (D)And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.
