Death of David^(A)

¹⁰ So ^(B)David ^[a]rested with his fathers, and was buried in ^(C)the City of David.

^20 (A)saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who ^(B)sought the young Child’s life are dead.”

³⁴ So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and struck and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

²¹ Then Abner said to David, “I will arise and go, and ^(A)gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may ^(B)reign over all that your heart desires.” So David sent Abner away, and he went in peace.

²⁶ They arose early; and it was about the dawning of the day that Samuel called to Saul on the top of the house, saying, “Get up, that I may send you on your way.” And Saul arose, and both of them went outside, he and Samuel.

²¹ Then she said, “According to your words, so be it.” And she sent them away, and they departed. And she bound the scarlet cord in the window.

¹⁹ Now the Lord said to Moses in ^(A)Midian, “Go, return to ^(B)Egypt; for all the men who ^(C)sought your life are dead.”

²⁴ So he sent his brothers away, and they departed; and he said to them, “See that you do not become troubled along the way.”
