⁸ Happy are your wives!^[a] Happy are these your servants who continually attend you and hear your wisdom!

³¹ The queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and indeed, something greater than Solomon is here!^(A)

²⁸ But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”^(A)

³⁹ She had a sister named Mary, who sat at Jesus’s^[a] feet and listened to what he was saying.^{(A) 40} But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her, then, to help me.” ⁴¹ But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things, ⁴² but few things are needed—indeed only one.^[b] Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.”^(B)

The True Wealth

⁷ Happy are your people! Happy are these your servants who continually attend you and hear your wisdom! ⁸ Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on his throne as king for the Lord your God. Because your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”^(A)
