⁷ but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report that I heard.

⁹ But, as it is written,

² Beloved, we are ^(A)God's children ^(B)now, and what we will be ^(C)has not yet appeared; but we know that ^(D)when he appears^{[a] (E)}we shall be like him, because ^(F)we shall see him as he is.

²⁵ So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, ^(A)“Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”

²⁶ Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. ^(B)Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ^(C)“Peace be with you.” ²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, ^(D)“Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” ²⁸ Thomas answered him, ^(E)“My Lord and my God!” ²⁹ Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? ^(F)Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

¹¹ But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they ^(A)would not believe it.
