⁴⁶ Moreover, Solomon has taken his seat^(A) on the royal throne.

²³ So Solomon sat^(A) on the throne^(B) of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him.

²² I will overturn^(A) royal thrones and shatter the power of the foreign kingdoms.^(B) I will overthrow chariots^(C) and their drivers; horses and their riders^(D) will fall, each by the sword of his brother.^(E)

¹³ Go in to King David and say to him, ‘My lord the king, did you not swear^(A) to me your servant: “Surely Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne”? Why then has Adonijah become king?’
