^23 (A)Then Solomon sat on the ^(B)throne of the Lord as king in place of David his father. And he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.

²² and ^(A)to overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I am about to destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, and ^(B)overthrow the chariots and their riders. And the horses and their riders shall go down, ^(C)every one by the sword of his brother.

¹³ Go in at once to King David, and say to him, ‘Did you not, my lord the king, swear to your servant, saying, ^(A)“Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then is Adonijah king?’
