³⁹ Then Zadok the priest took a horn of ^(A)oil from the tabernacle and ^(B)anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, ^(C)and all the people said, ^[a]“Long live King Solomon!”

²² So they ate and drank before the Lord with great gladness on that day. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and ^(A)anointed him before the Lord to be the leader, and Zadok to be priest.

³⁴ There let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet ^(A)anoint him king over Israel; and ^(B)blow the horn, and say, ^[a]‘Long live King Solomon!’

²⁴ And Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see him ^(A)whom the Lord has chosen, that there is no one like him among all the people?”

So all the people shouted and said, ^(B)“Long^[a] live the king!”

¹³ When she looked, there was the king standing by his pillar at the entrance; and the leaders and the trumpeters were by the king. All the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets, also the singers with musical instruments, and ^(A)those who led in praise. So Athaliah tore her clothes and said, ^(B)“Treason! Treason!”

¹¹ And they brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, ^(A)gave him the ^[a]Testimony, and made him king. Then Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, “Long live the king!”

^25 (A)For he has gone down today, and has sacrificed oxen and fattened cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the king’s sons, and the commanders of the army, and Abiathar the priest; and look! They are eating and drinking before him; and they say, ^(B)‘Long^[a] live King Adonijah!’
