²⁶ But he has not invited me—me your servant—nor Zadok the priest, nor Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, nor your servant Solomon.

⁸ But ^(A)Zadok the priest, ^(B)Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, ^(C)Nathan the prophet, ^(D)Shimei, Rei, and ^(E)the mighty men who belonged to David were not with Adonijah.

¹⁰ But he did not invite Nathan the prophet, Benaiah, the mighty men, or ^(A)Solomon his brother.

^19 (A)He has sacrificed oxen and fattened cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the sons of the king, Abiathar the priest, and Joab the commander of the army; but Solomon your servant he has not invited.

²⁵ and He sent word by the hand of Nathan the prophet: So ^[a]he called his name ^[b]Jedidiah, because of the Lord.

^12 (A)“When your days are fulfilled and you ^(B)rest with your fathers, ^(C)I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. ^13 (D)He shall build a house for My name, and I will ^(E)establish the throne of his kingdom forever. ^14 (F)I will be his Father, and he shall be ^(G)My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the ^[a]blows of the sons of men. ¹⁵ But My mercy shall not depart from him, ^(H)as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. ¹⁶ And ^(I)your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before ^[b]you. Your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”

¹⁷ According to all these words and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

² that the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in ^(A)a house of cedar, ^(B)but the ark of God dwells inside tent ^(C)curtains.”
