4 No te Atua koutou, e aku tamariki nonohi, kua kaha ano koutou i a ratou: no te mea nui atu tenei i roto i a koutou, i tera i roto i te ao.
5 No te ao ratou: na reira no te ao nei ano a ratou korero, a e whakarongo ana te ao ki a ratou.
6 No te Atua tatou: ko te tangata e matau ana ki te Atua, e whakarongo ana ia ki a tatou; ko te tangata ehara nei i ta te Atua, e kore ia e whakarongo ki a tatou. Ma konei tatou ka matau ai ki te wairua o te pono, ki te wairua o te he.
7 E nga hoa aroha, kia aroha tatou tetahi ki tetahi: no te Atua hoki te aroha; ko te hunga katoa hoki e aroha ana, kua whanau i te Atua, e matau ana hoki ki te Atua.
8 Ko te tangata kahore e aroha, kahore ia e matau ki te Atua; he aroha hoki te Atua.
9 Na konei i kitea mai ai te aroha o te Atua ki a tatou, na te mea kua tonoa mai e te Atua tana Tama kotahi ki te ao, kia ora ai tatou i a ia.
10 Ko te aroha tenei, ehara i te mea ko tatou kua aroha ki te Atua, engari ko ia kua aroha ki a tatou, a tonoa mai ana e ia tana Tama hei whakamarie mo o tatou hara.
11 E nga hoa aroha, ki te mea i penei te aroha o te Atua ki a tatou, he tika ano hoki kia aroha tatou tetahi ki tetahi.
12 Kahore he wa i kite ai tetahi i te Atua. Ki te aroha tatou tetahi ki tetahi, e noho ana te Atua i roto i a tatou, kua rite pu ano tona aroha i roto i a tatou.
13 Na konei tatou i matau ai e noho ana tatou i roto i a ia, me ia i roto i a tatou, na te mea kua homai e ia ta tona Wairua ki a tatou.
14 Kua kite ano matou, ka whakaatu nei ano hoki, i tonoa mai te Tama e te Matua hei Kaiwhakaora mo te ao.
15 Ko te tangata e whakaae ana ko Ihu te Tama a te Atua, e noho ana te Atua i roto i a ia, me ia ano hoki i roto i te Atua.
16 Kua matau nei ano hoki tatou, kua whakapono ki te aroha o te Atua ki a tatou. He aroha te Atua, ko te tangata hoki e noho ana i runga i te aroha e noho ana i roto i te Atua, me te Atua ano hoki i roto i a ia.
17 Na konei te aroha i roto i a tatou i rite pu ai, a ka whai maiatanga ano tatou a te ra whakawa: na te mea e rite ana ki a ia tatou e noho nei i tenei ao.
18 Kahore he mataku i roto i te aroha: engari ka maka te mataku ki waho e te aroha ina tino rite; no te mea he mamae to te mataku. Ko te tangata hoki e mataku ana, kahore ia i tino rite i roto i te aroha.
19 E aroha ana tatou ki a ia, no te mea ko ia kua matua aroha ki a tatou.
20 Ki te mea tetahi, E aroha ana ahau ki te Atua, a e mauahara ana ki tona teina, he tangata teka ia: ko te tangata hoki kahore e aroha ki tona teina i kitea nei e ia, me pehea ka aroha ai ia ki te Atua kahore nei i kitea e ia?
21 Kei a tatou ano hoki tenei ture, he mea nana, Ko te tangata e aroha ana ki te Atua, kia aroha hoki ki tona teina.

4 Chaverim, do not believe every ruach. [YIRMEYAH 29:8] But test the ruchot (spirits), if they be of Hashem, because many nevi’ei sheker have gone out into the Olam Hazeh.
2 By this we have da’as of the Ruach Hakodesh of Hashem: every ruach which makes hoda’ah (confession) of Yehoshua, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach as having come in the basar is of Hashem,
3 And every ruach which does not make hoda’ah of Yehoshua is not of Hashem. And this is the ruach of the Anti-Moshiach, which you have heard that it is coming; and now it already is in the Olam Hazeh.
4 Yeladim, you are of Hashem, and you have overcome them, because greater is the One in you than the one in the Olam Hazeh. [MELACHIM BAIS 6:16]
5 They are of the Olam Hazeh; therefore, of the Olam Hazeh they speak, and the Olam Hazeh pays heed to them.
6 We are of Hashem; the one having da’as of Hashem pays heed to us; he who is not of Hashem does not pay heed to us. From this we have da’as of the Ruach [Hakodesh] of Emes and the ruach tatu’im (spirit of delusion, error).
7 Chaverim, let us have ahavah one for another, because ahavah is of Hashem, and everyone having ahavah has been born of Hashem and has da’as of Hashem.
8 The one not having ahavah did not have da’as of Hashem, because Hashem is ahavah.
9 By this was made hisgalus of the ahavah of Hashem among us, because Hashem has sent His Ben Yechid into the Olam Hazeh that we may live through Him. [Yn 3:16]
10 In this is ahavah, not that we have had ahavah for Hashem, but that Hashem had ahavah for us and gave His Ben HaElohim as a kapporah for chattoteinu.
11 Chaverim, if Hashem so had ahavah for us, also we ought to have ahavah one for another.
12 No one has ever beheld Hashem. If we have ahavah one for another, G-d makes His ma’on in us and the Ahavas Hashem in us has been made shleimah.
13 By this we have da’as that we have our ma’on in Him and He in us, because of the Ruach Hakodesh of Him He has given us.
14 And we [Shlichim] have beheld and we give solemn eidus (testimony) that HaAv has sent HaBen as Moshi’a HaOlam (Go’el el kol HaOlam, Oisleizer).
15 Whoever makes moyde (confession) that Yehoshua (Yeshua) is the Ben HaElohim, Hashem makes His ma’on in him and he in Hashem.
16 And we have had da’as and emunah in the ahavah which Hashem has for us. Hashem is ahavah. The one making his ma’on in ahavah makes his ma’on in Hashem and Hashem in him.
17 By this has the ahavah become shleimah with us, that we may have bitachon in the Yom HaDin, because as that One is, so we are also in the Olam Hazeh.
18 Pachad (fear) is not in ahavah, but the ahavah hashleimah casts out pachad, because pachad has to do with pachad of the onesh (punishment) and the one with pachad has not been perfected in ahavah.
19 We have ahavah because rishonah He had ahavah for us.
20 If anyone says I have ahavah for Hashem and the Ach b’Moshiach he hates, he is a shakran (liar). For the one not having ahavah for the Ach b’Moshiach of him whom he has seen, how can he have ahavah for the Elohim whom he has not seen?
21 And this mitzvah we have from Him that the one having ahavah for Hashem should have ahavah also for the Ach b’Moshiach of him.

On Denying the Incarnation
4 Dear friends,(A) do not believe every spirit,(B) but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.(C) 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh(D) is from God,(E) 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist,(F) which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.(G)
4 You, dear children,(H) are from God and have overcome them,(I) because the one who is in you(J) is greater than the one who is in the world.(K) 5 They are from the world(L) and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us.(M) This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth(N) and the spirit of falsehood.(O)
God’s Love and Ours
7 Dear friends, let us love one another,(P) for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God(Q) and knows God.(R) 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.(S) 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son(T) into the world that we might live through him.(U) 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us(V) and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.(W) 11 Dear friends,(X) since God so loved us,(Y) we also ought to love one another.(Z) 12 No one has ever seen God;(AA) but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.(AB)
13 This is how we know(AC) that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.(AD) 14 And we have seen and testify(AE) that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.(AF) 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God,(AG) God lives in them and they in God.(AH) 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love.(AI) Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.(AJ) 17 This is how love is made complete(AK) among us so that we will have confidence(AL) on the day of judgment:(AM) In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear,(AN) because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.(AO) 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister(AP) is a liar.(AQ) For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen,(AR) cannot love God, whom they have not seen.(AS) 21 And he has given us this command:(AT) Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.(AU)
