6 Everyone who remains in him(A) does not sin;[a](B) everyone who sins[b] has not seen him or known him.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who commits[c] sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God(C) was revealed(D) for this purpose: to destroy the devil’s works.

7 Dear children,(D) do not let anyone lead you astray.(E) The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.(F) 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil,(G) because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God(H) appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.(I)
