Christ Is Our Advocate

2 ^(A)My little children, I am ^(B)writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, ^(C)we have an ^[a](D)Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; ² and He Himself is ^(E)the ^[b]propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also ^(F)for the sins of the whole world.

²¹ and since we have ^(A)a great priest ^(B)over the house of God, ²² let’s ^(C)approach God with a ^[a]sincere heart in ^(D)full assurance of faith, having our hearts ^(E)sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies ^(F)washed with pure water. ²³ Let’s hold firmly to the ^(G)confession of our ^(H)hope without wavering, for ^(I)He who promised is faithful;
