¹⁴ And ^(A)we have seen and testify that ^(B)the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of ^(C)the world.

¹⁰ In this is love, ^(A)not that we have loved God ^(B)but that he loved us and sent his Son to be ^(C)the propitiation for our sins.

⁴² They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, ^(A)and we know that this is indeed ^(B)the Savior ^(C)of the world.”

For God So Loved the World

¹⁶ “For ^(A)God so loved ^(B)the world,^{[a] (C)}that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not ^(D)perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For ^(E)God did not send his Son into the world ^(F)to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

¹⁴ And ^(A)the Word ^(B)became flesh and ^(C)dwelt among us, ^(D)and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son^[a] from the Father, full of ^(E)grace and ^(F)truth.

Christ Our Advocate

2 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, ^(A)we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. ^2 (B)He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but ^(C)also for the sins of the whole world.

²⁶ “But ^(A)when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, ^(B)he will bear witness about me. ²⁷ And ^(C)you also will bear witness, ^(D)because you have been with me ^(E)from the beginning.

Behold, the Lamb of God

²⁹ The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, ^(A)the Lamb of God, who ^(B)takes away the sin ^(C)of the world!

¹² By ^(A)Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, ^(B)I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is ^(C)the true grace of God. ^(D)Stand firm in it.
