Love One Another

¹¹ For this is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.^(A)

⁵ But now, dear lady, I ask you, not as though I were writing you a new commandment but one we have had from the beginning: let us love one another.^(A)

¹² “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.^(A)

God Is Love

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.^(A)

²¹ The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.

³⁴ I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.^{(A) 35} By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”^(B)

⁸ Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins.^(A)

Suffering for Doing Right

⁸ Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.^(A)

² and walk in love, as Christ loved us^[a] and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.^(A)

God Is Light

⁵ This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.^(A)
