²⁷ But ^(A)the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and ^(B)you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and ^(C)is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.

²⁶ But the ^(A)Helper, the Holy Spirit, ^(B)whom the Father will send in my name, ^(C)he will teach you all things and ^(D)bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

²⁰ But you have been ^(A)anointed by ^(B)the Holy One, and ^(C)you all have knowledge.^{[a] 21} I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

¹³ And we impart this ^(A)in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, ^(B)interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.^[a]

¹³ When ^(A)the Spirit of truth comes, ^(B)he will ^(C)guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but ^(D)whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

^33 (A)For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: ^(B)I will put my law within them, and I will write it ^(C)on their hearts. ^(D)And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ³⁴ And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ ^(E)for they shall all know me, ^(F)from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For ^(G)I will forgive their iniquity, and ^(H)I will remember their sin no more.”

¹³ And ^(A)we also thank God constantly^[a] for this, that when you received ^(B)the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it ^(C)not as the word of men^[b] but as what it really is, the word of God, ^(D)which is at work in you believers.

^4 (A)Abide ^(B)in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine; ^(C)you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that ^(D)bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not abide in me ^(E)he is thrown away like a branch and withers; ^(F)and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. ⁷ If ^(G)you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ^(H)ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Christ's Glory and the Prophetic Word

¹⁶ For we did not follow ^(A)cleverly devised ^(B)myths when we made known to you ^(C)the power and ^(D)coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but ^(E)we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. ¹⁷ For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, ^(F)“This is my beloved Son,^[a] with whom I am well pleased,”
