L'abbigliamento delle donne
11 Fatevi miei imitatori, come io lo sono di Cristo.
2 Vi lodo poi perché in ogni cosa vi ricordate di me e conservate le tradizioni così come ve le ho trasmesse. 3 Voglio però che sappiate che di ogni uomo il capo è Cristo, e capo della donna è l'uomo, e capo di Cristo è Dio. 4 Ogni uomo che prega o profetizza con il capo coperto, manca di riguardo al proprio capo. 5 Ma ogni donna che prega o profetizza senza velo sul capo, manca di riguardo al proprio capo, poiché è lo stesso che se fosse rasata. 6 Se dunque una donna non vuol mettersi il velo, si tagli anche i capelli! Ma se è vergogna per una donna tagliarsi i capelli o radersi, allora si copra.
7 L'uomo non deve coprirsi il capo, poiché egli è immagine e gloria di Dio; la donna invece è gloria dell'uomo. 8 E infatti non l'uomo deriva dalla donna, ma la donna dall'uomo; 9 né l'uomo fu creato per la donna, ma la donna per l'uomo. 10 Per questo la donna deve portare sul capo un segno della sua dipendenza a motivo degli angeli. 11 Tuttavia, nel Signore, né la donna è senza l'uomo, né l'uomo è senza la donna; 12 come infatti la donna deriva dall'uomo, così l'uomo ha vita dalla donna; tutto poi proviene da Dio. 13 Giudicate voi stessi: è conveniente che una donna faccia preghiera a Dio col capo scoperto? 14 Non è forse la natura stessa a insegnarci che è indecoroso per l'uomo lasciarsi crescere i capelli, 15 mentre è una gloria per la donna lasciarseli crescere? La chioma le è stata data a guisa di velo. 16 Se poi qualcuno ha il gusto della contestazione, noi non abbiamo questa consuetudine e neanche le Chiese di Dio.
Il "pasto del Signore"
17 E mentre vi do queste istruzioni, non posso lodarvi per il fatto che le vostre riunioni non si svolgono per il meglio, ma per il peggio. 18 Innanzi tutto sento dire che, quando vi radunate in assemblea, vi sono divisioni tra voi, e in parte lo credo. 19 E' necessario infatti che avvengano divisioni tra voi, perché si manifestino quelli che sono i veri credenti in mezzo a voi. 20 Quando dunque vi radunate insieme, il vostro non è più un mangiare la cena del Signore. 21 Ciascuno infatti, quando partecipa alla cena, prende prima il proprio pasto e così uno ha fame, l'altro è ubriaco. 22 Non avete forse le vostre case per mangiare e per bere? O volete gettare il disprezzo sulla chiesa di Dio e far vergognare chi non ha niente? Che devo dirvi? Lodarvi? In questo non vi lodo!
23 Io, infatti, ho ricevuto dal Signore quello che a mia volta vi ho trasmesso: il Signore Gesù, nella notte in cui veniva tradito, prese del pane 24 e, dopo aver reso grazie, lo spezzò e disse: «Questo è il mio corpo, che è per voi; fate questo in memoria di me». 25 Allo stesso modo, dopo aver cenato, prese anche il calice, dicendo: «Questo calice è la nuova alleanza nel mio sangue; fate questo, ogni volta che ne bevete, in memoria di me». 26 Ogni volta infatti che mangiate di questo pane e bevete di questo calice, voi annunziate la morte del Signore finché egli venga. 27 Perciò chiunque in modo indegno mangia il pane o beve il calice del Signore, sarà reo del corpo e del sangue del Signore. 28 Ciascuno, pertanto, esamini se stesso e poi mangi di questo pane e beva di questo calice; 29 perché chi mangia e beve senza riconoscere il corpo del Signore, mangia e beve la propria condanna. 30 E' per questo che tra voi ci sono molti ammalati e infermi, e un buon numero sono morti. 31 Se però ci esaminassimo attentamente da noi stessi, non saremmo giudicati; 32 quando poi siamo giudicati dal Signore, veniamo ammoniti per non esser condannati insieme con questo mondo.
33 Perciò, fratelli miei, quando vi radunate per la cena, aspettatevi gli uni gli altri. 34 E se qualcuno ha fame, mangi a casa, perché non vi raduniate a vostra condanna. Quanto alle altre cose, le sistemerò alla mia venuta.

11 فَاقْتَدُوا بِي كَمَا أَقْتَدِي أَنَا بِالْمَسِيحِ!
2 إِنِّي أَمْدَحُكُمْ لأَنَّكُمْ تَذْكُرُونَنِي فِي كُلِّ أَمْرٍ وَتُحَافِظُونَ عَلَى التَّعَالِيمِ كَمَا سَلَّمْتُهَا إِلَيْكُمْ. 3 وَلَكِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْمَسِيحَ هُوَ الرَّأْسُ لِكُلِّ رَجُلٍ؛ أَمَّا رَأْسُ الْمَرْأَةِ فَهُوَ الرَّجُلُ، وَرَأْسُ الْمَسِيحِ هُوَ اللهُ. 4 فَكُلُّ رَجُلٍ يُصَلِّي أَوْ يَتَنَبَّأُ، وَعَلَى رَأْسِهِ غِطَاءٌ، يَجْلِبُ الْعَارَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ. 5 وَكُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ تُصَلِّي أَوْ تَتَنَبَّأُ، وَلَيْسَ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا غِطَاءٌ، تَجْلِبُ الْعَارَ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا، لأَنَّ كَشْفَ الْغِطَاءِ كَحَلْقِ الشَّعْرِ تَمَاماً. 6 فَإِذَا كَانَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ لَا تُغَطِّي رَأْسَهَا، فَلْيُقَصَّ شَعْرُهَا! وَلَكِنْ، مَادَامَ مِنَ الْعَارِ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ أَنْ يُقَصَّ شَعْرُهَا أَوْ يُحْلَقَ، فَلْتُغَطِّ رَأْسَهَا. 7 ذَلِكَ لأَنَّ الرَّجُلَ عَلَيْهِ أَلّا يُغَطِّيَ رَأْسَهُ، بِاعْتِبَارِهِ صُورَةَ اللهِ وَمَجْدَهُ. وَأَمَّا الْمَرْأَةُ فَهِيَ مَجْدُ الرَّجُلِ. 8 فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَمْ يُؤْخَذْ مِنَ الْمَرْأَةِ، بَلِ الْمَرْأَةُ أُخِذَتْ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ؛ 9 وَالرَّجُلُ لَمْ يُوجَدْ لأَجْلِ الْمَرْأَةِ، بَلِ الْمَرْأَةُ وُجِدَتْ لأَجْلِ الرَّجُلِ. 10 لِذَا يَجِبُ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ أَنْ تَضَعَ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا عَلامَةَ الْخُضُوعِ، مِنْ أَجْلِ الْمَلائِكَةِ. 11 غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ فِي الرَّبِّ لَيْسَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ دُونِ الرَّجُلِ، وَلا الرَّجُلُ مِنْ دُونِ الْمَرْأَةِ. 12 فَكَمَا أَنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ أُخِذَتْ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ، فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ يَكْتَمِلُ بِالْمَرْأَةِ، وَإِنَّمَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هُوَ مِنَ اللهِ.
13 فَاحْكُمُوا إِذَنْ بِأَنْفُسِكُمْ: أَمِنَ اللّائِقِ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ الْمَرْأَةُ إِلَى اللهِ وَهِيَ مَكْشُوفَةُ الرَّأْسِ؟ 14 أَمَا تُعَلِّمُكُمُ الطَّبِيعَةُ نَفْسُهَا أَنَّ إِرْخَاءَ الرَّجُلِ شَعْرَهُ عَارٌ عَلَيْهِ، 15 فِي حِينِ أَنَّ إِرْخَاءَ الْمَرْأَةِ لِشَعْرِهَا مَفْخَرَةٌ لَهَا، لأَنَّ الشَّعْرَ أُعْطِيَ لَهَا بِمَثَابَةِ حِجَابٍ. 16 أَمَّا إِذَا رَغِبَ أَحَدٌ فِي إِظْهَارِ الْمُشَاكَسَةِ، فَلَيْسَ لَنَا نَحْنُ مِثْلُ هَذِهِ الْعَادَةِ وَلا لِكَنَائِسِ اللهِ!
تصحيح سوء استخدام عشاء الرب
17 عَلَى أَنِّي، إِذْ أَنْتَقِلُ الآنَ لأُوصِيَكُمْ بِهَذَا، لَسْتُ أَمْدَحُكُمْ، لأَنَّ اجْتِمَاعَاتِكُمْ تَضُرُّ أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَنْفَعُ. 18 فَأَوَّلاً، سَمِعْتُ أَنَّكُمْ، حِينَ تَجْتَمِعُ جَمَاعَتُكُمْ، يَكُونُ بَيْنَكُمْ شِقَاقٌ. وَأَكَادُ أُصَدِّقُ ذَلِكَ، 19 لأَنَّهُ لابُدَّ مِنْ وُجُودِ خِلافَاتٍ بَيْنَكُمْ، حَتَّى يَبْرُزَ الْفَاضِلُونَ فِيكُمْ. 20 فَحِينَ تَجْتَمِعُونَ مَعاً فِي مَكَانٍ وَاحِدٍ، لَا تَجْتَمِعُونَ لأَكْلِ عَشَاءِ الرَّبِّ، 21 لأَنَّ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ يَسْبِقُ غَيْرَهُ لِيَتَنَاوَلَ عَشَاءَهُ الْخَاصَّ، فَيَظَلُّ الْوَاحِدُ جَائِعاً، وَيَشْرَبُ الآخَرُ حَتَّى يَسْكَرَ! 22 أَفَلَيْسَ عِنْدَكُمْ بُيُوتٌ تَأْكُلُونَ وَتَشْرَبُونَ فِيهَا؟ أَمْ إِنَّكُمْ تَحْتَقِرُونَ كَنِيسَةَ اللهِ وَتُهِينُونَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْئاً؟ فَمَاذَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ؟ أَأَمْدَحُكُمْ؟ عَلَى هَذَا لَسْتُ أَمْدَحُكُمْ!
23 فَإِنِّي قَدْ تَسَلَّمْتُ مِنَ الرَّبِّ مَا سَلَّمْتُكُمْ إِيَّاهُ. وَهُوَ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ يَسُوعَ، فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الَّتِي أُسْلِمَ فِيهَا، أَخَذَ خُبْزاً، 24 وَشَكَرَ، ثُمَّ كَسَّرَ الْخُبْزَ وَقَالَ: «هَذَا هُوَ جَسَدِي الَّذِي يُكْسَرُ مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ اعْمَلُوا هَذَا لِذِكْرِي». 25 وَكَذَلِكَ أَخَذَ الْكَأْسَ بَعْدَ الْعَشَاءِ، وَقَالَ: «هَذِهِ الْكَأْسُ هِيَ الْعَهْدُ الْجَدِيدُ بِدَمِي اعْمَلُوا هَذَا، كُلَّمَا شَرِبْتُمْ، لِذِكْرِي». 26 إِذَنْ، كُلَّمَا أَكَلْتُمْ هَذَا الْخُبْزَ وَشَرِبْتُمْ هَذِهِ الْكَأْسَ، تُعْلِنُونَ مَوْتَ الرَّبِّ، إِلَى أَنْ يَرْجِعَ. 27 فَمَنْ أَكَلَ الْخُبْزَ، أَوْ شَرِبَ كَأْسَ الرَّبِّ بِغَيْرِ اسْتِحْقَاقٍ، يَكُونُ مُذْنِباً تُجَاهَ جَسَدِ الرَّبِّ وَدَمِهِ.
28 وَلكِنْ، لِيَفْحَصِ الإِنْسَانُ نَفْسَهُ، ثُمَّ يَأْكُلْ مِنَ الْخُبْزِ وَيَشْرَبْ مِنَ الْكَأْسِ. 29 لأَنَّ الآكِلَ وَالشَّارِبَ يَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ الْحُكْمَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ إِذْ لَا يُمَيِّزُ جَسَدَ الرَّبِّ. 30 لِهَذَا السَّبَبِ فِيكُمْ كَثِيرُونَ مِنَ الضُّعَفَاءِ وَالْمَرْضَى، وَكَثِيرُونَ يَرْقُدُونَ. 31 فَلَوْ كُنَّا حَكَمْنَا عَلَى نُفُوسِنَا، لَمَا حُكِمَ عَلَيْنَا. 32 وَلكِنْ، مَادَامَ قَدْ حُكِمَ عَلَيْنَا، فَإِنَّنَا نُؤَدَّبُ مِنْ قِبَلِ الرَّبِّ حَتَّى لَا نُدَانَ مَعَ الْعَالَمِ. 33 فَيَا إِخْوَتِي، عِنْدَمَا تَجْتَمِعُونَ مَعاً لِلأَكْلِ، انْتَظِرُوا بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضاً. 34 وَإِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ جَائِعاً فَلْيَأْكُلْ فِي بَيْتِهِ، لِكَيْ لَا يَكُونَ اجْتِمَاعُكُمْ لِلْحُكْمِ عَلَيْكُمْ. أَمَّا الْمَسَائِلُ الأُخْرَى، فَعِنْدَمَا آتِي أُرَتِّبُهَا.

11 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
