Ang Biblia (1978)
8 Ngayon tungkol (A)sa mga bagay na inihain sa mga diosdiosan: Nalalaman natin na tayong lahat ay may (B)kaalaman. (C)Ang kaalaman ay nagpapalalo, nguni't ang pagibig ay nagpapatibay.
2 (D)Kung ang sinoman ay nagaakala na siya'y may nalalamang anoman, ay wala pang nalalaman gaya ng nararapat niyang maalaman;
3 Datapuwa't kung ang sinoman (E)ay umiibig sa Dios, ay kilala niya ang gayon.
4 Tungkol nga sa pagkain ng mga bagay na inihain sa mga diosdiosan, nalalaman natin na (F)ang diosdiosan ay walang kabuluhan sa sanglibutan, (G)at walang Dios liban sa iisa.
5 Sapagka't bagama't mayroong mga (H)tinatawag na mga dios, maging sa langit o maging sa lupa; gaya nang may maraming mga dios at maraming mga panginoon;
6 Nguni't sa ganang atin ay may isang Dios lamang, (I)ang Ama, na buhat sa kaniya ang lahat ng mga bagay, at tayo'y (J)sa kaniya; at isa lamang Panginoon, si Jesucristo, (K)na sa pamamagitan niya ang lahat ng mga bagay, at tayo'y sa pamamagitan niya.
7 Gayon ma'y wala sa lahat ng mga tao ang kaalamang iyan: kundi ang ilan na hanggang ngayon ay (L)nangamimihasa sa diosdiosan, ay kumakain na parang isang bagay na inihain sa diosdiosan; at ang kanilang budhi palibhasa'y mahina ay (M)nangahahawa.
8 Datapuwa't ang pagkain ay hindi magtataguyod sa atin sa Dios: ni hindi tayo masama, kung tayo'y di magsikain; ni hindi tayo lalong mabuti, kung tayo'y magsikain.
9 Datapuwa't magsipagingat kayo baka sa anomang paraan ang inyong kalayaang ito ay maging (N)katitisuran sa mahihina.
10 Sapagka't kung makita ng sinomang ikaw na may (O)kaalaman na nakikisalo sa pagkain sa templo ng diosdiosan, hindi baga titibay ang kaniyang budhi, kung siya'y mahina, upang kumain ng mga bagay na inihain sa mga diosdiosan?
11 Sapagka't sa pamamagitan ng iyong kaalaman ay napapahamak ang mahina, ang kapatid na dahil sa kaniya'y namatay si Cristo.
12 At sa ganitong pagkakasala laban sa mga kapatid, at sa pagkakasugat ng kaniyang budhi kung ito'y mahina, ay nangagkakasala kayo laban kay Cristo.
13 Kaya, (P)kung ang pagkain ay nakapagpapatisod sa aking kapatid, kailan man ay hindi ako kakain ng lamang-kati, upang ako'y huwag makapagpatisod sa aking kapatid.

8 Y POR lo que hace á lo sacrificado á los ídolos, sabemos que todos tenemos ciencia. La ciencia hincha, mas la caridad edifica.
2 Y si alguno se imagina que sabe algo, aun no sabe nada como debe saber.
3 Mas si alguno ama á Dios, el tal es conocido de él.
4 Acerca, pues, de las viandas que son sacrificadas á los ídolos, sabemos que el ídolo nada es en el mundo, y que no hay más de un Dios.
5 Porque aunque haya algunos que se llamen dioses, ó en el cielo, ó en la tierra (como hay muchos dioses y muchos señores),
6 Nosotros empero no tenemos más de un Dios, el Padre, del cual son todas las cosas, y nosotros en él: y un Señor Jesucristo, por el cual son todas las cosas, y nosotros por él.
7 Mas no en todos hay esta ciencia: porque algunos con conciencia del ídolo hasta aquí, comen como sacrificado á ídolos; y su conciencia, siendo flaca, es contaminada.
8 Si bien la vianda no nos hace más aceptos á Dios: porque ni que comamos, seremos más ricos; ni que no comamos, seremos más pobres.
9 Mas mirad que esta vuestra libertad no sea tropezadero á los que son flacos.
10 Porque si te ve alguno, á ti que tienes ciencia, que estás sentado á la mesa en el lugar de los ídolos, ¿la conciencia de aquel que es flaco, no será adelantada á comer de lo sacrificado á los ídolos?
11 Y por tu ciencia se perderá el hermano flaco por el cual Cristo murió.
12 De esta manera, pues, pecando contra los hermanos, é hiriendo su flaca conciencia, contra Cristo pecáis.
13 Por lo cual, si la comida es á mi hermano ocasión de caer, jamás comeré carne por no escandalizar á mi hermano.

Concerning Food Sacrificed to Idols
8 Now about food sacrificed to idols:(A) We know that “We all possess knowledge.”(B) But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something(C) do not yet know as they ought to know.(D) 3 But whoever loves God is known by God.[a](E)
4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols:(F) We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world”(G) and that “There is no God but one.”(H) 5 For even if there are so-called gods,(I) whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God,(J) the Father,(K) from whom all things came(L) and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord,(M) Jesus Christ, through whom all things came(N) and through whom we live.
7 But not everyone possesses this knowledge.(O) Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak,(P) it is defiled. 8 But food does not bring us near to God;(Q) we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block(R) to the weak.(S) 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols?(T) 11 So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed(U) by your knowledge. 12 When you sin against them(V) in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.(W) 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.(X)
