15 Ngayo'y ipinatatalastas ko sa inyo, mga kapatid, ang evangelio na sa inyo'y aking ipinangaral, na inyo namang tinanggap, na siya naman ninyong pinananatilihan,
2 Sa pamamagitan naman nito'y ligtas kayo kung matiyaga ninyong iingatan ang salitang ipinangaral ko sa inyo, maliban na kung kayo'y nagsipanampalataya nang walang kabuluhan.
3 Sapagka't ibinigay ko sa inyo una sa lahat, ang akin namang tinanggap: na si Cristo ay namatay dahil sa ating mga kasalanan, ayon sa mga kasulatan,
4 At siya'y inilibing; at siya'y muling binuhay nang ikatlong araw ayon sa mga kasulatan;
5 At siya'y napakita kay Cefas, at saka sa labingdalawa;
6 Pagkatapos ay napakita sa mahigit na limang daang kapatid na paminsan, na ang karamihan sa mga ito'y nangabubuhay hanggang ngayon, datapuwa't ang mga iba'y nangatulog na;
7 Saka napakita kay Santiago; at saka sa lahat ng mga apostol;
8 At sa kahulihulihan, tulad sa isang ipinanganak sa di kapanahunan, ay napakita naman siya sa akin.
9 Ako nga ang pinakamaliit sa mga apostol, at hindi ako karapatdapat na tawaging apostol, sapagka't pinagusig ko ang iglesia ng Dios.
10 Datapuwa't sa pamamagitan ng biyaya ng Dios, ako nga'y ako; at ang kaniyang biyaya na ibinigay sa akin ay hindi nawawalan ng kabuluhan; bagkus ako'y malabis na nagpagal kay sa kanilang lahat: bagaman hindi ako, kundi ang biyaya ng Dios na sumasa akin.
11 Maging ako nga o sila, ay gayon ang aming ipinangangaral, at gayon ang inyong sinampalatayanan.
12 Kung si Cristo nga'y ipinangangaral na siya'y muling binuhay sa mga patay, bakit ang ilan sa inyo ay nagsisipagsabi na walang pagkabuhay na maguli ng mga patay?
13 Datapuwa't kung walang pagkabuhay na maguli ng mga patay, ay hindi rin nga muling binuhay si Cristo:
14 At kung si Cristo'y hindi muling binuhay, ay walang kabuluhan nga ang aming pangangaral, wala rin namang kabuluhan ang inyong pananampalataya.
15 Oo, at kami ay nasusumpungang mga saksing bulaan tungkol sa Dios; sapagka't aming sinasaksihan tungkol sa Dios, na kaniyang muling binuhay si Cristo; na hindi siyang muling nabuhay, kung tunay nga ang mga patay ay hindi muling binubuhay.
16 Sapagka't kung hindi muling binubuhay ang mga patay, ay hindi rin nga muling binuhay si Cristo:
17 At kung si Cristo ay hindi muling binuhay, ang inyong pananampalataya ay walang kabuluhan kayo'y nasa inyong mga kasalanan pa.
18 Kung gayon nga, ang mga nangatutulog din naman kay Cristo ay pawang nangapahamak.
19 Kung sa buhay lamang na ito tayo nagsisiasa kay Cristo, ay tayo sa lahat ng mga tao ang lalong kahabaghabag.
20 Datapuwa't si Cristo nga'y muling binuhay sa mga patay na siya ay naging pangunahing bunga ng nangatutulog.
21 Sapagka't yamang sa pamamagitan ng tao'y dumating ang kamatayan, sa pamamagitan din naman ng tao'y dumating ang pagkabuhay na maguli sa mga patay.
22 Sapagka't kung paanong kay Adam ang lahat ay nangamamatay, gayon din naman kay Cristo ang lahat ay bubuhayin.
23 Datapuwa't ang bawa't isa'y sa kaniyang sariling katayuan; si Cristo ang pangunahing bunga; pagkatapos ay ang mga kay Cristo, sa kaniyang pagparito.
24 Kung magkagayo'y darating ang wakas, pagka ibibigay na niya ang kaharian sa Dios, sa makatuwid baga'y sa Ama; pagka lilipulin na niya ang lahat ng paghahari, at lahat ng kapamahalaan at kapangyarihan.
25 Sapagka't kinakailangang siya'y maghari hanggang mailagay niya sa ilalim ng kaniyang mga talampakan ang lahat niyang mga kaaway.
26 Ang kahulihulihang kaaway na lilipulin ay ang kamatayan.
27 Sapagka't kaniyang pinasuko ang lahat ng mga bagay sa ilalim ng kaniyang paa. Datapuwa't kung sinasabi, ang lahat ng mga bagay ay pinasuko, ay maliwanag na itinangi yaong nagpasuko ng lahat ng mga bagay sa kaniya.
28 At kung ang lahat ng mga bagay ay mapasuko na sa kaniya, kung magkagayo'y ang Anak rin ay pasusukuin naman sa nagpasuko ng lahat ng mga bagay sa kaniya, upang ang Dios ay maging lahat sa lahat.
29 Sa ibang paraan, anong gagawin ng mga binabautismuhan dahil sa mga patay? Kung ang mga patay ay tunay na hindi muling binubuhay, bakit nga sila'y binabautismuhan dahil sa kanila?
30 Bakit baga naman tayo'y nanganganib bawa't oras?
31 Ipinahahayag ko alangalang sa ikaluluwalhati ninyo, mga kapatid, na taglay ko kay Cristo Jesus na Panginoon natin na araw-araw ay nasa panganib ng kamatayan ako.
32 Kung ako'y nakipagbaka sa Efeso laban sa mga ganid, ayon sa kaugalian ng tao, ano ang pakikinabangin ko? Kung ang mga patay ay hindi muling binubuhay, magsikain at magsiinom tayo yamang bukas tayo'y mangamamatay.
33 Huwag kayong padaya: Ang masasamang kasama ay sumisira ng magagandang ugali.
34 Gumising kayo ng ayon sa katuwiran, at huwag mangagkasala; sapagka't may mga ibang walang pagkakilala sa Dios: sinasabi ko ito upang kayo'y kilusin sa kahihiyan.
35 Datapuwa't sasabihin ng iba, Paanong muling bubuhayin ang mga patay? at anong anyo ng katawan ang iparirito nila?
36 Ikaw na mangmang, ang inyong inihahasik ay hindi binubuhay maliban na kung mamatay:
37 At ang iyong inihahasik ay hindi mo inihahasik ang katawang lilitaw, kundi ang butil lamang, na marahil ay trigo, o ibang bagay;
38 Datapuwa't ang Dios ay nagbibigay ng katawan dito ayon sa kaniyang minagaling, at sa bawa't binhi ay ang sariling katawan.
39 Hindi ang lahat ng laman ay magkasing-isang laman: kundi may laman sa mga tao, at ibang laman sa mga hayop, at ibang laman sa mga ibon, at ibang laman sa mga isda.
40 Mayroon namang mga katawang ukol sa langit, at mga katawang ukol sa lupa: datapuwa't iba ang kaluwalhatian ng ukol sa langit, at iba ang ukol sa lupa.
41 Iba ang kaluwalhatian ng araw, at iba ang kaluwalhatian ng buwan, at iba ang kaluwalhatian ng mga bituin; sapagka't ang isang bituin ay naiiba sa ibang bituin sa kaluwalhatian.
42 Gayon din naman ang pagkabuhay na maguli ng mga patay. Itinatanim na may kasiraan; binubuhay na maguli na walang kasiraan;
43 Itinatanim na may pagkasiphayo; binubuhay na maguli na may kaluwalhatian: itinatanim na may kahinaan; binubuhay na maguli na may kapangyarihan:
44 Itinatanim na may katawang ukol sa lupa; binubuhay na maguli na katawang ukol sa espiritu. Kung may katawang ukol sa lupa ay may katawang ukol sa espiritu naman.
45 Gayon din naman nasusulat, Ang unang taong si Adam ay naging kaluluwang buhay. Ang huling Adam ay naging espiritung nagbibigay buhay.
46 Bagaman ang ukol sa espiritu ay hindi siyang una, kundi ang ukol sa lupa: pagkatapos ang ukol sa espiritu.
47 Ang unang tao ay taga lupa na ukol sa lupa: ang ikalawang tao ay taga langit.
48 Kung ano ang ukol sa lupa, ay gayon din naman silang mga taga lupa: at kung ano ang ukol sa langit ay gayon din naman silang taga langit.
49 At kung paanong tinaglay natin ang larawang ukol sa lupa, ay tataglayin din naman natin ang larawang ukol sa langit.
50 Sinasabi ko nga ito, mga kapatid, na ang laman at ang dugo ay hindi makapagmamana ng kaharian ng Dios; ni ang kasiraan ay magmamana ng walang kasiraan.
51 Narito, sinasaysay ko sa inyo ang isang hiwaga: hindi tayong lahat ay mangatutulog, nguni't tayong lahat ay babaguhin,
52 Sa isang sangdali, sa isang kisap-mata, sa huling pagtunog ng pakakak: sapagka't tutunog ang pakakak, at ang mga patay ay mangabubuhay na maguli na walang kasiraan, at tayo'y babaguhin.
53 Sapagka't kinakailangan na itong may kasiraan ay magbihis ng walang kasiraan, at itong may kamatayan ay magbihis ng walang kamatayan.
54 Datapuwa't pagka itong may kasiraan ay mabihisan ng walang kasiraan, at itong may kamatayan ay mabihisan ng walang kamatayan, kung magkakagayon ay mangyayari ang wikang nasusulat, Nilamon ng pagtatagumpay ang kamatayan.
55 Saan naroon, Oh kamatayan, ang iyong pagtatagumpay? Saan naroon, Oh kamatayan, ang iyong tibo?
56 Ang tibo ng kamatayan ay ang kasalanan; at ang kapangyarihan ng kasalanan ay ang kautusan:
57 Datapuwa't salamat sa Dios, na nagbibigay sa atin ng pagtatagumpay sa pamamagitan ng ating Panginoong Jesucristo.
58 Kaya nga, mga kapatid kong minamahal, kayo'y magsitatag, huwag makilos, na laging sumasagana sa gawa ng Panginoon, yamang nalalaman ninyo na hindi walang kabuluhan ang inyong gawa sa Panginoon.

Cristo ha resucitado
15 Quiero recordaros, hermanos, el mensaje de salvación que os anuncié. El mensaje que recibisteis, en el que os mantenéis firmes 2 y por el que estáis en camino de salvación, si es que lo conserváis tal como yo os lo anuncié. De lo contrario, se habrá echado a perder vuestra fe.
3 Primero y ante todo, os transmití lo que yo mismo había recibido: que Cristo murió por nuestros pecados, conforme a lo anunciado en las Escrituras; 4 que fue sepultado y que resucitó al tercer día, conforme a esas mismas Escrituras; 5 que se apareció primero a Pedro y, más tarde, a los Doce. 6 Después se apareció a más de quinientos hermanos juntos, de los cuales algunos han muerto, pero la mayor parte vive todavía. 7 Se apareció después a Santiago, y de nuevo a todos los apóstoles. 8 Finalmente, como si se tratara de un hijo nacido fuera de tiempo, se me apareció también a mí, 9 que soy el más pequeño entre los apóstoles y que no merezco el nombre de apóstol, por cuanto perseguí a la Iglesia de Dios. 10 Pero la gracia divina ha hecho de mí esto que soy; una gracia que no se ha malogrado en cuanto a mí toca. Al contrario, me he afanado más que todos los otros; bueno, no yo, sino la gracia de Dios que actúa en mí. 11 De cualquier modo, sea yo, sean los demás, esto es lo que anunciamos y lo que vosotros habéis creído.
También nosotros resucitaremos
12 Y bien, si se proclama que Cristo ha resucitado, venciendo a la muerte, ¿cómo andan diciendo algunos de vosotros que los muertos no resucitarán? 13 Si los muertos no han de resucitar, es que tampoco Cristo ha resucitado. 14 Y si Cristo no ha resucitado, tanto nuestro anuncio como vuestra fe carecen de sentido. 15 Es más, resulta que somos testigos falsos de Dios, por cuanto hemos dado testimonio contra él al afirmar que ha resucitado a Cristo, cosa que no es verdad si se da por supuesto que los muertos no resucitan. 16 Porque si los muertos no resucitan, es que no ha resucitado Cristo. 17 Y si Cristo no ha resucitado, vuestra fe carece de valor y aún seguís hundidos en el pecado. 18 En consecuencia también habremos de dar por perdidos a los cristianos que han fallecido. 19 Si todo cuanto esperamos de Cristo se limita a esta vida, somos las personas más dignas de lástima.
20 Pero no, Cristo ha resucitado venciendo la muerte y su victoria es anticipo de la de aquellos que han muerto. 21 Pues si por un hombre vino la muerte, también por un hombre viene la resurrección de los muertos. 22 En efecto, del mismo modo que, al compartir la naturaleza de Adán, toda la humanidad está sujeta a la muerte, en cuanto injertados en Cristo, todos retornarán a la vida. 23 Pero cada uno en el puesto que le corresponda: Cristo en primer lugar como anticipo; después los que pertenecen a Cristo, el día de su gloriosa manifestación. 24 Entonces será el momento final, cuando, aniquiladas todas las potencias enemigas, Cristo entregue el reino a Dios Padre. 25 Mientras tanto, es preciso que Cristo reine hasta que Dios ponga a todos sus enemigos debajo de sus pies. 26 Y como a último enemigo, destruirá a la muerte, 27 porque Dios todo lo sometió debajo de sus pies. Bien entendido que, cuando la Escritura dice que “todo le ha sido sometido”, no incluye a Dios, que es quien se lo sometió. 28 Y cuando todo le haya quedado sometido, el Hijo se someterá a quien se lo sometió todo, para que Dios sea soberano de todo.
29 Hay algunos que se hacen bautizar por los que han muerto; si es cierto que los muertos no han de resucitar, ¿qué sentido puede tener ese bautismo? 30 Y nosotros mismos, ¿a qué ponernos en peligro a todas horas? 31 Os aseguro, hermanos, por lo orgulloso que me siento de vosotros ante Cristo Jesús, Señor nuestro, que estoy al borde de la muerte cada día. 32 Y si sólo aspiro a una recompensa humana, ¿de qué me sirve haber sostenido en Éfeso un combate contra fieras? Si los muertos no resucitan, ¡comamos y bebamos, que mañana moriremos !
33 No os engañéis: “Las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres”. 34 Retornad al buen camino y no sigáis pecando; pues, para vergüenza vuestra, tengo que deciros que algunos de vosotros desconocen a Dios.
Naturaleza de los cuerpos resucitados
35 Alguien preguntará: ¿y cómo resucitarán los muertos? ¿Con qué cuerpo lo harán? 36 ¡Tonto de ti! Si tú siembras algo, no cobrará nueva vida a menos que antes muera. 37 Y lo que siembras no es la planta entera que después ha de brotar, sino un simple grano, de trigo o de cualquier otra semilla. 38 Dios, por su parte, proporciona a esa semilla, y a todas y cada una de las semillas, la forma que le parece conveniente.
39 No todos los cuerpos son iguales: hay diferencia entre el cuerpo del ser humano, el del ganado, el de las aves y el de los peces. 40 Hay cuerpos celestes y cuerpos terrestres. Y no es el mismo resplandor el de los unos que el de los otros. 41 No brilla el sol como brillan la luna o las estrellas; e incluso entre las estrellas, cada una tiene un brillo diferente. 42 Así sucede con la resurrección de los muertos: se siembra algo corruptible, resucita incorruptible; 43 se siembra una cosa despreciable, resucita resplandeciente de gloria; se siembra algo endeble, resucita pleno de vigor; 44 se siembra, en fin, un cuerpo animal, resucita un cuerpo espiritual. Pues si hay cuerpo animal, también lo hay espiritual. 45 La Escritura dice: Adán, el primer ser humano, fue creado como un ser dotado de vida; el último Adán, como un espíritu que da vida. 46 Y no existió primero lo espiritual, sino lo animal; lo espiritual es posterior. 47 El primer ser humano procede de la tierra, y es terreno; el segundo viene del cielo. 48 El terreno es prototipo de los terrenos; el celestial, de los celestiales. 49 Y así como hemos incorporado en nosotros la imagen del ser humano terreno, incorporaremos también la del celestial. 50 Quiero decir con esto, hermanos, que lo que es sólo carne y sangre no puede heredar el reino de Dios; que lo corruptible no heredará lo incorruptible.
51 Mirad, voy a confiaros un misterio: no todos moriremos, pero todos seremos transformados. 52 Súbitamente, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, cuando suene —que sonará— la trompeta final, los muertos resucitarán incorruptibles mientras nosotros seremos transformados. 53 Porque es preciso que este ser corruptible se revista de incorruptibilidad y que esta vida mortal se revista de inmortalidad.
Himno de acción de gracias por el triunfo
54 Y cuando este cuerpo corruptible se revista de incorruptibilidad, cuando este ser mortal se revista de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá lo que dice la Escritura: La muerte ha sido devorada por la victoria. 55 ¿Dónde está, muerte, tu victoria? ¿dónde tu venenoso aguijón? 56 El aguijón de la muerte es el pecado, y el pecado ha desplegado su fuerza con ocasión de la ley. 57 Pero nosotros hemos de dar gracias a Dios, que por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo nos concede la victoria. 58 Por tanto, hermanos míos muy queridos, manteneos firmes y constantes; destacad constantemente en la tarea cristiana, seguros de que el Señor no permitirá que sea estéril vuestro afán.

La resurrección de Cristo
15 Ahora, hermanos, quiero recordarles las buenas noticias que les prediqué, las mismas que recibieron y en las cuales se mantienen firmes. 2 Mediante estas buenas noticias son salvos, si se aferran a la palabra que les prediqué. De otro modo, habrán creído en vano.
3 Porque ante todo[a] les transmití a ustedes lo que yo mismo recibí: que Cristo murió por nuestros pecados según las Escrituras, 4 que fue sepultado, que resucitó al tercer día según las Escrituras, 5 que se apareció a Cefas y luego a los doce. 6 Después se apareció a más de quinientos hermanos a la vez, la mayoría de los cuales vive todavía, aunque algunos han muerto.[b] 7 Luego se apareció a Santiago, más tarde a todos los apóstoles, 8 y por último, como a uno nacido fuera de tiempo, se me apareció también a mí.
9 Admito que yo soy el más insignificante de los apóstoles y que ni siquiera merezco ser llamado apóstol, porque perseguí a la iglesia de Dios. 10 Pero por la gracia de Dios soy lo que soy y la gracia que él me concedió no se quedó sin fruto. Al contrario, he trabajado con más tesón que todos ellos, aunque no yo, sino la gracia de Dios que está conmigo. 11 En fin, ya sea que se trate de mí o de ellos, esto es lo que predicamos y esto es lo que ustedes han creído.
La resurrección de los muertos
12 Ahora bien, si se predica que Cristo ha sido levantado de entre los muertos, ¿cómo dicen algunos de ustedes que no hay resurrección? 13 Si no hay resurrección, entonces ni siquiera Cristo ha resucitado. 14 Y si Cristo no ha resucitado, nuestra predicación no sirve para nada, como tampoco la fe de ustedes. 15 Aún más, resultaríamos falsos testigos de Dios por haber testificado que Dios resucitó a Cristo, lo cual no habría sucedido si en verdad los muertos no resucitan. 16 Porque, si los muertos no resucitan, tampoco Cristo ha resucitado. 17 Y si Cristo no ha resucitado, la fe de ustedes es ilusoria y todavía están en sus pecados. 18 En este caso, también están perdidos los que murieron en Cristo. 19 Si la esperanza que tenemos en Cristo fuera solo para esta vida, seríamos los más desdichados de todos los mortales.
20 Lo cierto es que Cristo ha sido levantado de entre los muertos, como primicias de los que murieron. 21 De hecho, ya que la muerte vino por medio de un hombre, también por medio de un hombre viene la resurrección de los muertos. 22 Así como en Adán todos mueren, también en Cristo todos volverán a vivir, 23 pero cada uno en su debido orden: Cristo, las primicias; después, cuando él venga, los que le pertenecen. 24 Entonces vendrá el fin, cuando él entregue el reino a Dios el Padre, luego de destruir todo dominio, autoridad y poder. 25 Porque es necesario que Cristo reine hasta someter a todos sus enemigos a su dominio. 26 El último enemigo que será destruido es la muerte, 27 pues Dios «ha puesto todo bajo sus pies».[c] Al decir que «todo» ha quedado sometido a su dominio, es claro que no se incluye a Dios mismo, quien todo lo sometió a Cristo. 28 Y cuando todo le sea sometido, entonces el Hijo mismo se someterá a aquel que le sometió todo, para que Dios sea todo en todos.
29 Si no hay resurrección, ¿qué sacan los que se bautizan por los muertos? Si en definitiva los muertos no resucitan, ¿por qué se bautizan por ellos? 30 Y nosotros, ¿por qué nos exponemos al peligro a todas horas? 31 Que cada día muero, hermanos, es tan cierto como el orgullo que siento por ustedes en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor. 32 ¿Qué he ganado si, solo por motivos humanos, en Éfeso luché contra las fieras? Si los muertos no resucitan,
«¡comamos y bebamos,
que mañana moriremos!».[d]
33 No se dejen engañar: «Las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres». 34 Vuelvan a su sano juicio, como conviene, y dejen de pecar. En efecto, hay algunos de ustedes que no tienen conocimiento de Dios; para vergüenza de ustedes lo digo.
El cuerpo resucitado
35 Tal vez alguien pregunte: «¿Cómo resucitarán los muertos? ¿Con qué clase de cuerpo vendrán?». 36 ¡Qué tontería! Lo que tú siembras no cobra vida a menos que muera. 37 No plantas el cuerpo que luego ha de nacer, sino que siembras una simple semilla de trigo o de otro tipo. 38 Pero Dios le da el cuerpo que quiso darle y a cada clase de semilla le da un cuerpo propio. 39 No todos los cuerpos son iguales: hay cuerpos humanos, también los hay de animales terrestres, de aves y de peces. 40 Asimismo, hay cuerpos celestes y cuerpos terrestres; pero el esplendor de los cuerpos celestes es uno y el de los cuerpos terrestres es otro. 41 Uno es el esplendor del sol, otro el de la luna y otro el de las estrellas. Cada estrella tiene su propio brillo.
42 Así sucederá también con la resurrección de los muertos. Lo que se siembra en corrupción resucita en incorrupción; 43 lo que se siembra en deshonra resucita en gloria; lo que se siembra en debilidad resucita en poder; 44 se siembra un cuerpo natural y resucita un cuerpo espiritual.
Si hay un cuerpo natural, también hay un cuerpo espiritual. 45 Así está escrito: «El primer hombre, Adán, se convirtió en un ser viviente»;[e] el último Adán, en el Espíritu que da vida. 46 No vino primero lo espiritual, sino lo natural y después lo espiritual. 47 El primer hombre era del polvo de la tierra; el segundo hombre, del cielo. 48 Como es aquel hombre terrenal, así son también los de la tierra; y como es el celestial, así son también los del cielo. 49 Y, así como hemos llevado la imagen de aquel hombre terrenal, llevaremos[f] también la imagen del celestial.
50 Les declaro, hermanos, que el cuerpo mortal[g] no puede heredar el reino de Dios ni lo corruptible puede heredar lo incorruptible. 51 Fíjense bien en el misterio que voy a revelar: No todos moriremos, pero todos seremos transformados, 52 en un instante, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, al toque final de la trompeta. Pues sonará la trompeta y los muertos resucitarán con un cuerpo incorruptible, y nosotros seremos transformados. 53 Porque lo corruptible tiene que revestirse de lo incorruptible y lo mortal, de inmortalidad. 54 Cuando lo corruptible se revista de lo incorruptible y lo mortal, de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá lo que está escrito: «La muerte ha sido devorada por la victoria».[h]
55 «¿Dónde está, oh muerte, tu victoria?
¿Dónde está, oh muerte, tu aguijón?».[i]
56 El aguijón de la muerte es el pecado y el poder del pecado es la Ley. 57 ¡Pero gracias a Dios que nos da la victoria por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo!

The Resurrection of Christ
15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel(A) I preached to you,(B) which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved,(C) if you hold firmly(D) to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received(E) I passed on to you(F) as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins(G) according to the Scriptures,(H) 4 that he was buried,(I) that he was raised(J) on the third day(K) according to the Scriptures,(L) 5 and that he appeared to Cephas,[b](M) and then to the Twelve.(N) 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.(O) 7 Then he appeared to James,(P) then to all the apostles,(Q) 8 and last of all he appeared to me also,(R) as to one abnormally born.
9 For I am the least of the apostles(S) and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted(T) the church of God.(U) 10 But by the grace(V) of God I am what I am, and his grace to me(W) was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them(X)—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.(Y) 11 Whether, then, it is I or they,(Z) this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
The Resurrection of the Dead
12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead,(AA) how can some of you say that there is no resurrection(AB) of the dead?(AC) 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised,(AD) our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead.(AE) But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.(AF) 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep(AG) in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.(AH)
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead,(AI) the firstfruits(AJ) of those who have fallen asleep.(AK) 21 For since death came through a man,(AL) the resurrection of the dead(AM) comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.(AN) 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits;(AO) then, when he comes,(AP) those who belong to him.(AQ) 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom(AR) to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.(AS) 25 For he must reign(AT) until he has put all his enemies under his feet.(AU) 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.(AV) 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.”[c](AW) Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.(AX) 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him,(AY) so that God may be all in all.(AZ)
29 Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? 30 And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour?(BA) 31 I face death every day(BB)—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. 32 If I fought wild beasts(BC) in Ephesus(BD) with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised,
33 Do not be misled:(BF) “Bad company corrupts good character.”[e](BG) 34 Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God(BH)—I say this to your shame.(BI)
The Resurrection Body
35 But someone will ask,(BJ) “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”(BK) 36 How foolish!(BL) What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.(BM) 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.(BN) 39 Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor,(BO) the moon another and the stars another;(BP) and star differs from star in splendor.
42 So will it be(BQ) with the resurrection of the dead.(BR) The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;(BS) 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory;(BT) it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.(BU)
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”[f];(BV) the last Adam,(BW) a life-giving spirit.(BX) 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.(BY) 47 The first man was of the dust of the earth;(BZ) the second man is of heaven.(CA) 48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.(CB) 49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man,(CC) so shall we[g] bear the image of the heavenly man.(CD)
50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood(CE) cannot inherit the kingdom of God,(CF) nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.(CG) 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery:(CH) We will not all sleep,(CI) but we will all be changed(CJ)— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,(CK) the dead(CL) will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable(CM) must clothe itself with the imperishable,(CN) and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[h](CO)
56 The sting of death is sin,(CQ) and the power of sin is the law.(CR) 57 But thanks be to God!(CS) He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.(CT)
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,(CU) because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.(CV)

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
