18 Sapagka't ang salita ng krus ay kamangmangan sa kanila na (A)nangapapahamak; nguni't (B)ito'y kapangyarihan ng Dios sa atin na (C)nangaliligtas.
19 Sapagka't nasusulat,
(D)Iwawalat ko ang karunungan ng marurunong,
At isasawala ko ang kabaitan ng mababait.
20 Saan naroon ang marunong? saan naroon ang eskriba? saan naroon ang mapagmatuwid (E)sa sanglibutang ito? hindi baga (F)ginawa ng Dios na kamangmangan ang karunungan ng sanglibutan?

18 For the [a]message of the cross is (B)foolishness to (C)those who are perishing, but to us (D)who are being saved it is the (E)power of God. 19 For it is written:
(F)“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
20 (G)Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the [b]disputer of this age? (H)Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
