1 Corinthians 9:25-27

25 And everyone who competes exercises self-control in all things. Thus those do so in order that they may receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one. 26 Therefore I run in this way, not as running aimlessly; I box in this way, not as beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and subjugate it, lest somehow after[a] preaching to others, I myself should become disqualified.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown(A) that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.(B) 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly;(C) I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.(D) 27 No, I strike a blow to my body(E) and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.(F)
