4 Rurashcalla dioscunaman cushca animalcunapaj aichata micunaca ima mana canchu, chai dioscunallatajpish, ima mana canchu. Shujlla Taita Dios tiyajtami yachanchij. 5 Gentecunaca, “Jahuapipish, cai pachapipish achca dioscunami tiyan” ninmi. (Chashna nijcunapajca, «dioscunapish» «mandajcunapish» achcatajmari tiyan). 6 Ashtahuanpish ñucanchijpajca, shujlla Diosmi tiyan. Paica Yaya Diosmi, Paica tucui ima tiyajtapish rurajmi. Ñucanchijpish Paipajmi canchij. Shinallataj shujlla Mandajmari tiyan, Paica Jesucristomi. Paimantami tucui imapish tiyan, ñucanchijpish paimantami causacunchij.

Chaita micushpaca, manaraj sinchi crij cashcamantami, mapayashcata yuyancuna. 8 Ima micunallaca, mana Diosman ashtahuan c'uchuyachinchu. Chashna cashcamantaca micushpapish, mana ashtahuan alli canchijchu. Mana micushpapish, mana yanga tucunchijchu.
9 Ñataj cancunaca, imatapish ‘Micunallami’ nishpa, micushpaca, caishuj manaraj sinchi crijcunata pandachinguichijman. 10 Can alli yachaj cashcamantaca, rurashcalla dioscunata adorana huasipipish micunguillatajmari. Manaraj sinchi crij, can chaipi micushpa tiyacujta ricushpaca, ¿manachu paipish chai dioscunaman cushca aichata micunachinga? 11 Ñataj can, ‘Yachaj cani’ nishpa micushcallamanta, manaraj sinchi crij chingarinman. Cristomari paimanta huañushpa quishpichirca. 12 Cancuna chashna micushpa, manaraj sinchi crijcunata pandachishpa juchallishpaca, Cristotamari p'iñachishpa, juchallinguichij. 13 Chashna cana cajpica, ñuca imata micushcallamanta maijan crij urmanalla cajpica, paita ama urmachingapajca, manataj aichataca micushachu.

8 Ora, riguardo alle cose sacrificate agli idoli, noi sappiamo che tutti abbiamo conoscenza; la conoscenza gonfia, ma l'amore edifica.
2 Ora, se uno pensa di sapere qualche cosa, non sa ancora nulla di come egli dovrebbe sapere.
3 Ma se uno ama Dio, egli è da lui conosciuto.
4 Perciò quanto al mangiare le cose sacrificate agli idoli, noi sappiamo che l'idolo non è nulla nel mondo, e che non vi è alcun altro Dio, se non uno solo,
5 E infatti, anche se vi sono i cosiddetti dèi sia in cielo che in terra (come vi sono molti dèi e molti signori),
6 per noi c'è un solo Dio, il Padre dal quale sono tutte le cose e noi in lui; e un solo Signore, Gesú Cristo, per mezzo del quale sono tutte le cose, e noi esistiamo per mezzo di lui.
7 Ma la conoscenza non è in tutti; anzi alcuni, avendo finora consapevolezza dell'idolo, mangiano come di una cosa sacrificata all'idolo; e la loro coscienza, essendo debole, ne è contaminata.
8 Ora un cibo non ci rende graditi a Dio; se mangiamo, non abbiamo nulla di piú, e se non mangiamo, non abbiamo nulla di meno.
9 Badate però che questa vostra libertà non divenga un intoppo per i deboli.
10 Perché se qualcuno vede te, che hai conoscenza, seduto a tavola in un tempio di idoli, la coscienza di lui, che è debole, non sarà forse incoraggiata a mangiare le cose sacrificate agli idoli?
11 E cosí, a causa della tua conoscenza perirà il fratello debole, per il quale Cristo è morto.
12 Ora, peccando cosí contro i fratelli e ferendo la loro coscienza debole, voi peccate contro Cristo.
13 Perciò, se un cibo scandalizza il mio fratello, non mangerò mai piú carne, per non scandalizzare il mio fratello,

Concerning Food Sacrificed to Idols
8 Now about food sacrificed to idols:(A) We know that “We all possess knowledge.”(B) But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something(C) do not yet know as they ought to know.(D) 3 But whoever loves God is known by God.[a](E)
4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols:(F) We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world”(G) and that “There is no God but one.”(H) 5 For even if there are so-called gods,(I) whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God,(J) the Father,(K) from whom all things came(L) and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord,(M) Jesus Christ, through whom all things came(N) and through whom we live.
7 But not everyone possesses this knowledge.(O) Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak,(P) it is defiled. 8 But food does not bring us near to God;(Q) we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block(R) to the weak.(S) 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols?(T) 11 So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed(U) by your knowledge. 12 When you sin against them(V) in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.(W) 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.(X)
