Spiritual Immaturity
3 Brothers, I couldn’t talk to you as spiritual people but as worldly people, as mere infants in the Messiah.[a] 2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, because you weren’t ready for it. And you’re still not ready! 3 That’s because you are still worldly. As long as there is jealousy and quarreling among you, you are worldly and living by human standards, aren’t you? 4 For when one person says, “I follow Paul,” and another person says, “I follow Apollos,” you’re following[b] your own human nature, aren’t you?
5 Who is Apollos, anyhow? Or who is Paul? They’re merely servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord gave to each of us his task. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God kept everything growing. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is significant, but God, who keeps everything growing, is the one who matters. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have the same goal, and each will receive a reward for his own action. 9 For we are God’s co-workers. You are God’s farmland and God’s building.
The Messiah is Our Foundation
10 As an expert builder using the grace that God gave me, I laid the foundation, and someone else is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it. 11 After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that is Jesus the Messiah.[c] 12 Whether a person builds on this foundation with gold, silver, expensive stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 the workmanship of each person will become evident, for the day of judgment[d] will show what it is, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s action. 14 If what a person has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.[e] 15 If his work is burned up, he will suffer loss. However, he himself will be saved, but it will be like going through fire.
16 You know that you are God’s sanctuary and that God’s Spirit lives in you, don’t you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s sanctuary, God will destroy him, for God’s sanctuary is holy. And you are that sanctuary!
True Wisdom
18 Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in the ways of[f] this world, he must become a fool to become really wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is nonsense in God’s sight. For it is written,
“He catches the wise with their own trickery,”[g]
20 and again,
21 So let no one boast about human beings, since everything belongs to you, 22 whether Paul, Apollos, Cephas,[j] the world, life, death, the present, or the future—everything belongs to you, 23 but you belong to the Messiah,[k] and the Messiah[l] belongs to God.

Những Người Cùng Phục Vụ Chúa
3 Thưa anh chị em, tôi vẫn không thể nói với anh chị em như nói với những người thuộc linh, nhưng nói với những người xác thịt, như những trẻ sơ sinh trong Chúa Cứu Thế. 2 Tôi đã cho anh chị em uống sữa, chứ chưa cho ăn được vì anh chị em chưa đủ sức. Nhưng cho đến bây giờ, anh chị em vẫn chưa đủ sức. 3 Vì anh chị em vẫn còn xác thịt. Anh chị em vẫn còn ganh tị, xung đột, như thế không phải anh chị em vẫn còn xác thịt và sống như người thế gian sao? 4 Vì khi có người nói: Tôi theo Phao-lô, người khác: Tôi theo A-bô-lô. Như thế không phải là người thế gian sao?
5 A-bô-lô là ai? Phao-lô là ai? Họ chỉ là những tôi tớ, nhờ họ anh chị em đã tin và mỗi tôi tớ làm theo điều Chúa đã ban cho mình.
6 Tôi đã trồng, A-bô-lô đã tưới, nhưng chính Đức Chúa Trời đã làm cho lớn lên. 7 Cho nên người trồng, kẻ tưới đều không quan trọng gì, chỉ có Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng làm cho lớn lên mới quan trọng. 8 Người trồng, kẻ tưới đều như nhau, mỗi người sẽ nhận phần thưởng tùy theo công lao của mình. 9 Vì chúng tôi là người cùng làm việc với Đức Chúa Trời, anh chị em là đồng ruộng của Đức Chúa Trời, là nhà của Đức Chúa Trời.
10 Nhờ ân sủng Đức Chúa Trời đã ban cho tôi, như một chuyên gia xây cất giỏi, tôi đã đặt nền móng, còn người khác xây dựng lên. Nhưng mỗi người phải cẩn thận về công trình xây cất của mình. 11 Vì không ai có thể đặt một nền móng nào khác ngoài nền đã lập tức là Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-su. 12 Hễ ai dùng vàng, bạc, đá quý, gỗ, cỏ khô hay rơm rạ để xây nhà trên nền ấy, 13 thì công việc của mỗi người sẽ được phơi bày rõ ràng. Ngày phán xét sẽ phô bày công trình đó ra vì ngày ấy sẽ xuất hiện trong lửa và lửa sẽ thử nghiệm công việc của mỗi người. 14 Nếu công trình của người nào đã xây dựng còn tồn tại, người đó sẽ được phần thưởng. 15 Nếu công trình của người nào đã xây dựng bị thiêu đốt, thì công trình ấy sẽ mất đi còn người đó sẽ được cứu nhưng dường như qua lửa vậy.
16 Anh chị em không biết rằng anh chị em chính là đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời và Đức Thánh Linh của Đức Chúa Trời ở trong anh chị em sao? 17 Nếu ai phá hủy đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời, Đức Chúa Trời sẽ hủy hoại kẻ đó. Vì đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời là thánh khiết và đền thờ đó chính là anh chị em.
18 Đừng tự lừa dối mình. Nếu có ai trong vòng anh chị em nghĩ rằng mình khôn ngoan theo đời này, hãy trở nên dại dột để được khôn ngoan thật. 19 Đối với Đức Chúa Trời, khôn ngoan của thế gian này là ngu dại. Vì Kinh Thánh chép:
“Ngài bắt lấy kẻ khôn ngoan bằng chính mưu kế xảo quyệt của họ.”[a]
20 Và cũng thế: “Chúa biết tư tưởng của người khôn ngoan chỉ là vô ích.”[b]
21 Thế thì, đừng ai khoe khoang về loài người vì mọi sự đều thuộc về anh chị em. 22 Dù là Phao-lô hay A-bô-lô, Sê-pha hay thế gian, sự sống hay cái chết, hiện tại hoặc tương lai, tất cả đều thuộc về anh chị em. 23 Anh chị em thuộc về Chúa Cứu Thế và Chúa Cứu Thế thuộc về Đức Chúa Trời.

3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;
22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;
23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
