1 Corinthians 2

2 When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown, yet a wisdom not of this world nor of the rulers of this world who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written,
“Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear,
which didn’t enter into the heart of man,
these God has prepared for those who love him.”(A)
10 But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit. 12 But we received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God. 13 We also speak these things, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. 14 Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he should instruct him?” (B) But we have Christ’s mind.

2 愛する皆さん。私が初めて皆さんのところへ行った時、神のことばを伝えるのに、難しいことば遣いをしたり、高度な理論をふりまわしたりはしませんでした。 2 イエス・キリストと、その十字架上の死以外は語るまいと決心したからです。 3 私は弱々しく、おずおずと震えおののきながら、あなたがたのところへ行きました。 4 また私の説教も、説得力ある雄弁なことばや人間的な知恵にはほど遠く、単純そのものでした。しかし、そのことばには神の力があって、聞く人々は、それが神からのことばだとわかったのです。 5 私がそうしたのは、あなたがたの信仰が、人間のすぐれた思想にではなく、神に根ざしてほしかったからです。
6 とはいえ、成長したクリスチャンの間では、私はすぐれた知恵のことばを語ります。しかしそれは、この地上の知恵ではなく、また滅ぶべき運命にある、この世の支配者の気に入る知恵でもありません。 7 私たちのことばに知恵があるのは、それが神から出た教えで、天の栄光に導く、神の知恵に満ちた計画を告げるものだからです。私たちの語ることは、以前は隠されていましたが、世界の始まる前から私たちのために備えられていたものです。 8 しかし、この世の支配者たちは、このことを理解しませんでした。もし理解していたら、まさか栄光の主を十字架につけるようなことはしなかったでしょう。
9 まさに、聖書の次のことばどおりです。
10 私たちには、このすばらしいことが何かわかっています。神様がご自分の聖霊を通して知らせてくださったからです。神の霊は、神の最も奥深いお考えを探り出して、それを教えてくださるのです。 11 人が何を考えているか、その人が実際にどんな人間であるか、本人以外にはわかりません。同様に、神の考えを知りうるのは、神の霊以外にありません。 12 事実、神様は私たちに、この世の霊ではなく、ご自分の聖霊を与えてくださいました。それは、神からのすばらしい恵みと祝福という賜物を、私たちが知るためです。 13 この賜物について話す時、私たちは、自分が人間として選んだことばではなく、聖霊によって教えられたことばを使ってきました。つまり、聖霊のことを説明するには、聖霊のことばを用いるのです。 14 しかし、クリスチャンでない人は、聖霊が教えてくださる神の思いを理解することも、受け入れることもできません。彼らには愚かしく思えるのです。というのは、自分のうちに聖霊をいただいている人だけが、聖霊のお考えを理解できるからです。 15 聖霊をいただいている人は、すべてを見抜きます。ところが、聖霊をいただいていない人は全く理解できないので、まごつき、とまどうのです。 16 いったい、どうすれば彼らに聖霊がわかるというのでしょう。彼らは、主の思いを知ったこともなく、それを主と論じ合ったこともなく、また、祈りによって神の御手を動かしたこともないのです。しかし驚くべきことに、私たちクリスチャンは、まさにキリストの思いと心を共有しているのです。
