关于基督的福音

15 兄弟们，现在我要提醒你们记住我曾向你们传播的福音。你们接受了它，并在它之中继续得到力量。 2 如果你们恪守我传给你们的道，这信息就会使你们得到拯救，否则，你们就是在空洞地信。

3 我把自己领受到的信息传给了你们。我告诉你们，最重要的是：基督为我们的罪恶而死，正如《经》上所说的那样： 4 他被安葬了，又按照《经》上所说的那样，在第三天复活了， 5 他还出现在彼得 [a]面前，接着，出现在十二名使徒面前。 6 然后又在五百个兄弟面前同时出现。这些兄弟大部分人至今还活着，尽管有些已死了。 7 接着他又出现在雅各面前，然后又出现在所有的使徒面前， 8 最后，他还出现在我的面前，就好像我不是在正常情况下出生的。 9 因为我在使徒中最渺小，甚至不配被称作使徒，因为我曾经迫害过上帝的教会。 10 但由于上帝的恩典，我成为今天的我。他对我的恩典没有白费。我比其他使徒工作更努力，（但是，真正工作的那位并不是我，而是与我同在的上帝的恩典。） 11 因此，不论是我还是其他使徒，我们所传播的都是同样的事情，也就是你们所信的。

我们会死而复生

12 既然我们宣讲基督死而复活，你们中间怎么却有人说没有死而复活的事呢？ 13 假如没有死而复活的事，那么基督也就没有死而复活。 14 假如基督没有死而复活，我们的传教就一钱不值，你们的信仰也一钱不值。 15 并且我们也是在为上帝做假证，因为我们在上帝面前发誓作证说，他使耶稣从死里复活了。假如死人真不能复活，上帝就不曾使耶稣复活了。 16 如果死人不能复活，那么，基督也就没有复活了。 17 如果基督没有从死里复活，你们的信仰就是徒劳的，你们就仍然处在罪恶之中， 18 而且在基督里死去的人也已经灭亡了。 19 如果我们信基督的人的希望仅仅在于尘世的今生，那么我们就是全人类中最可悲的了。

20 但是，基督确实从死里复活了，他是所有沉睡在死亡之中的信徒的第一位复活者。 21 既然死亡来自于一个人，那么，死者复活也是来自于一个人。 22 正如众人皆为亚当死，同样，他们也皆因基督而活。 23 不过，每个人都有自己的次序。基督是第一个复活的，其次是当他再来时那些属于他的人。 24 然后，终结将会到来，到那时，基督将毁灭所有的统治者、当权者和所有的势力，把王国交给天父上帝。 25 基督一定要统治到上帝把基督的敌人都置于他的脚下为止。 26 最后将要被摧毁的敌人是死亡。 27 因为他说∶“上帝把一切都置于他的脚下。”《经》上说的“一切”都已经置于基督之下，显然，不包括上帝自己。正是上帝置一切于基督之下的。 28 做完这些，圣子本人才会被置于一切于他（圣子）之下的上帝之下。以便让上帝彻底地成为君临一切的万物之主。

29 如果人绝对不会从死里复活，那么那些为死人受洗礼的人在做什么呢？如果死人绝对不会复活，为什么人们还为他们受洗呢？

30 我们为什么会时时刻刻面临危险呢？ 31 我每天都面临死亡。兄弟们，这是真的，我以在主基督耶稣内为你们感到自豪而起誓。 32 如果我在以弗所与野兽博斗，仅仅是出于人的动机，我得到什么了呢？。如果死人不能复活，那么，“让我们吃吧喝吧，因为明天我们就要死去。”

33 不要上当受骗，“坏朋友会毁掉好习惯。” 34 你们现在应该清醒，不要再犯罪了。因为你们有人对上帝一无所知。我说这些，是为了让你们感到羞愧。

我们会有什么样的身体呢？

35 但是，也许有些人会问∶“死者怎样复活呢？他们会有什么样的身体呢？” 36 你们是多么地愚蠢啊！你们播的种子，除非先死去，否则就不会发芽生长。 37 你们播种的与后来要长成的“身体”并不一样。你们播种的东西只是一粒种子，或许是小麦种子，或是其它的种子。 38 上帝按照自己的决定，赋予它一个形体，并给了每一类种子它们自己的形体。 39 生物的肉体也不尽相同。人有人体，兽有兽体，鸟类有鸟类的形体，鱼类有鱼类的形体。 40 还有天体和地形。然而，天体有天体的光辉，地形有地形的光辉。 41 太阳有太阳的光辉，月亮有月亮的光辉，星星又有星星的光辉，而星星之间的光辉又不尽一致。

42 死者的复活也是如此。埋在土里的身体是易腐的，复活的身体却永不会腐朽； 43 入土的身体没有荣耀，复活的身体是荣耀的；入土的身体是软弱的，复活的身体是强壮的； 44 入土的是血肉之躯，复活的是属灵的身体。既然有血肉之躯，也就有属灵的身体。

45 《经》上说∶“第一个人，亚当成为一个活生生的人。”但是最后一个（基督）亚当是赐生命之灵。 46 先出现的不是属灵的，而是血肉之人。属灵的是在其后出现的。 47 第一个来自尘世的人由泥土所造。第二个人来自天堂。 48 属尘世的人，都像那个来自尘世的；属天的人，则都像那个来自天堂的人。 49 正如我们具有属尘世人的形象一样，我们也会具有那属天堂之人的形象。

50 兄弟们，我告诉你们：我们的血肉之躯不能继承上帝的王国；必朽的不能继承那不朽的。 听着，我告诉你们一个秘密，在最后的号声吹响之际，我们不会都死，但都会在眨眼之间迅速地改变，因为号角会吹响，死人将复活而成不朽，我们活着的人也会改变。 53 必朽的身体必须披上不朽的，垂死的身体必须披上不朽的。 54 当会腐朽的身体披上了不朽之身，垂死的身体穿上不死的外衣时，《经》上所说的就会实现：

“死亡在胜利中被吞没。” (A)

55 “死亡，你的胜利在哪里？
死亡，你伤害的力量在哪里？” (B)

56 伤害的死亡力量是罪，罪的力量是律法。 57 但是，感谢上帝！他通过我们的主耶稣基督赐给我们胜利。

58 因此，我亲爱的兄弟们，要站稳脚根，不要动摇，要一贯把自己完全彻底地奉献给主的事业，因为你们知道在主内工作绝不会是徒劳的。

The Resurrection of Christ

15 Now I would remind you, brothers,[a] of the gospel (A)I preached to you, which you received, (B)in which you stand, 2 and by which (C)you are being saved, if you (D)hold fast to the word I preached to you—(E)unless you believed in vain.

3 For (F)I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died (G)for our sins (H)in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised (I)on the third day (J)in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that (K)he appeared to Cephas, then (L)to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to (M)James, then (N)to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, (O)he appeared also to me. 9 For (P)I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because (Q)I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, (R)I worked harder than any of them, (S)though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

The Resurrection of the Dead

12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, (T)how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, (U)then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that (V)he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and (W)you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who (X)have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope[b] in this life only, (Y)we are of all people most to be pitied.

20 But in fact (Z)Christ has been raised from the dead, (AA)the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as (AB)by a man came death, (AC)by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For (AD)as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then (AE)at his coming (AF)those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers (AG)the kingdom to God the Father after destroying (AH)every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign (AI)until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be (AJ)destroyed is death. 27 For (AK)“God[c] has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When (AL)all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that (AM)God may be all in all.

29 Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf? 30 Why are we (AN)in danger every hour? 31 I protest, brothers, by (AO)my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, (AP)I die every day! 32 What do I gain if, humanly speaking, (AQ)I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, (AR)“Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 33 (AS)Do not be deceived: (AT)“Bad company ruins good morals.”[d] 34 (AU)Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For (AV)some have no knowledge of God. (AW)I say this to your shame.

The Resurrection Body

35 But someone will ask, (AX)“How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?” 36 You foolish person! (AY)What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. 39 For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. 40 There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.

42 (AZ)So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonor; (BA)it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 Thus it is written, (BB)“The first man Adam became a living being”;[e] (BC)the last Adam became a (BD)life-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 (BE)The first man was from the earth, (BF)a man of dust; (BG)the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, (BH)so also are those who are of heaven. 49 Just (BI)as we have borne the image of the man of dust, (BJ)we shall[f] also bear the image of the man of heaven.

Mystery and Victory

50 I tell you this, brothers: (BK)flesh and blood (BL)cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. (BM)We shall not all sleep, (BN)but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For (BO)the trumpet will sound, and (BP)the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and (BQ)this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

(BR)“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 (BS)“O death, where is your victory?
    O death, where is your sting?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and (BT)the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, (BU)who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 (BV)Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in (BW)the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord (BX)your labor is not in vain.

15 Ahora os hago saber, hermanos, el evangelio que os prediqué[a](A), el cual también recibisteis, en el cual también estáis firmes(B), 2 por el cual también sois salvos, si retenéis(C) la palabra[b] que os prediqué[c], a no ser que hayáis creído en vano(D). 3 Porque yo os entregué en primer lugar lo mismo que recibí(E): que Cristo murió por nuestros pecados(F), conforme a las Escrituras(G); 4 que fue sepultado y que resucitó al tercer día(H), conforme a las Escrituras(I); 5 que se apareció a Cefas(J) y después a los doce(K); 6 luego se apareció a más de quinientos hermanos a la vez, la mayoría de los cuales viven aún, pero algunos ya duermen(L); 7 después se apareció a Jacobo[d](M), luego a todos los apóstoles(N), 8 y al último de todos, como a uno nacido fuera de tiempo[e], se me apareció también a mí(O). 9 Porque yo soy el más insignificante de los apóstoles(P), que no soy digno de ser llamado apóstol, pues perseguí a la iglesia de Dios(Q). 10 Pero por la gracia de Dios(R) soy lo que soy, y su gracia para conmigo no resultó vana; antes bien he trabajado mucho más que todos ellos(S), aunque no yo, sino la gracia de Dios en mí(T). 11 Sin embargo, haya sido yo o ellos, así predicamos y así creísteis.

Si Cristo no ha resucitado

12 Ahora bien, si se predica que Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos, ¿cómo dicen algunos entre vosotros que no hay resurrección de muertos(U)? 13 Y si no hay resurrección de muertos, entonces ni siquiera Cristo ha resucitado; 14 y si Cristo no ha resucitado, vana es entonces nuestra predicación, y vana también vuestra fe(V). 15 Aún más, somos hallados testigos falsos de Dios, porque hemos testificado contra[f] Dios que Él resucitó a Cristo[g](W), a quien no resucitó, si en verdad los muertos no resucitan. 16 Pues si los muertos no resucitan, entonces ni siquiera Cristo ha resucitado; 17 y si Cristo no ha resucitado, vuestra fe es falsa[h]; todavía estáis en vuestros pecados(X). 18 Entonces también los que han dormido en Cristo han perecido(Y). 19 Si hemos esperado en Cristo para[i] esta vida solamente, somos, de todos los hombres, los más dignos de lástima(Z).

Cristo, garantía de la resurrección

20 Mas ahora Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos(AA), primicias(AB) de los que durmieron(AC). 21 Porque ya que la muerte entró por un hombre(AD), también por un hombre vino la resurrección de los muertos. 22 Porque así como en Adán todos mueren, también en Cristo[j] todos serán vivificados(AE). 23 Pero cada uno en su debido orden[k]: Cristo, las primicias(AF); luego los que son de Cristo(AG) en su venida(AH); 24 entonces vendrá el fin, cuando Él entregue el reino(AI) al Dios y Padre(AJ), después que haya abolido[l] todo dominio y toda autoridad y poder(AK). 25 Pues Cristo[m] debe reinar hasta que haya puesto a todos sus enemigos debajo de sus pies(AL). 26 Y el último enemigo que será abolido[n] es la muerte(AM). 27 Porque Dios[o] ha puesto todo en sujeción bajo sus pies(AN). Pero cuando dice que todas las cosas le están sujetas(AO), es evidente que se exceptúa a aquel que ha sometido a Él todas las cosas. 28 Y cuando todo haya sido sometido a Él(AP), entonces también el Hijo mismo se sujetará a aquel que sujetó a Él todas las cosas, para que Dios sea todo en todos(AQ).

29 De no ser así, ¿qué harán los que se bautizan por los muertos? Si de ninguna manera los muertos resucitan, ¿por qué, entonces, se bautizan por ellos? 30 Y también, ¿por qué estamos en peligro a toda hora(AR)? 31 Os aseguro, hermanos, por la satisfacción[p] que siento por vosotros en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor, que cada día estoy en peligro de muerte[q](AS). 32 Si por motivos humanos[r] luché contra fieras(AT) en Efeso(AU), ¿de qué me aprovecha? Si los muertos no resucitan, comamos y bebamos, que mañana moriremos(AV). 33 No os dejéis engañar(AW): «Las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres». 34 Sed sobrios(AX), como conviene[s], y dejad de pecar; porque algunos no tienen conocimiento de Dios(AY). Para vergüenza vuestra lo digo(AZ).

La gloria del cuerpo resucitado

35 Pero alguno dirá(BA): ¿Cómo resucitan los muertos(BB)? ¿Y con qué clase de cuerpo vienen? 36 ¡Necio(BC)! Lo que tú siembras no llega a tener vida si antes no muere(BD); 37 y lo que siembras, no siembras el cuerpo que nacerá[t], sino el grano desnudo, quizás de trigo o de alguna otra especie[u]. 38 Pero Dios le da un cuerpo como Él quiso, y a cada semilla su propio cuerpo(BE). 39 No toda carne es la misma carne, sino que una es la de los hombres, otra la[v] de las bestias, otra la[w] de las aves y otra la de los peces. 40 Hay, asimismo, cuerpos celestiales y cuerpos terrestres, pero la gloria del celestial es una, y la del terrestre es otra. 41 Hay una gloria del sol, y otra gloria de la luna, y otra gloria de las estrellas; pues una estrella es distinta de otra estrella en gloria. 42 Así es también la resurrección de los muertos. Se siembra un cuerpo corruptible[x](BF), se resucita un cuerpo incorruptible[y](BG); 43 se siembra en deshonra, se resucita en gloria(BH); se siembra en debilidad, se resucita en poder; 44 se siembra un cuerpo natural(BI), se resucita un cuerpo espiritual(BJ). Si hay un cuerpo natural, hay también un cuerpo espiritual. 45 Así también está escrito: El primer hombre, Adán, fue hecho alma viviente(BK). El último Adán(BL), espíritu que da vida(BM). 46 Sin embargo, el espiritual no es primero, sino el natural; luego el espiritual. 47 El primer hombre es de la tierra(BN), terrenal[z](BO); el segundo hombre es del cielo. 48 Como es el terrenal, así son también los que son terrenales; y como es el celestial, así son también los que son celestiales(BP). 49 Y tal como hemos traído la imagen del terrenal(BQ), traeremos[aa] también la imagen del celestial(BR).

La victoria final sobre la muerte

50 Y esto digo, hermanos: que la carne y la sangre(BS) no pueden heredar el reino de Dios(BT); ni lo que se corrompe[ab] hereda lo incorruptible[ac](BU). 51 He aquí, os digo un misterio(BV): no todos dormiremos[ad], pero todos seremos transformados(BW) 52 en un momento, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, a la trompeta final; pues la trompeta sonará(BX) y los muertos resucitarán(BY) incorruptibles, y nosotros seremos transformados(BZ). 53 Porque es necesario que esto corruptible se vista de incorrupción, y esto mortal se vista de inmortalidad(CA). 54 Pero cuando esto corruptible se haya vestido de incorrupción, y esto mortal se haya vestido de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra que está escrita: Devorada ha sido la muerte en victoria(CB). 55 ¿Dónde está, oh muerte, tu victoria? ¿Dónde, oh sepulcro[ae], tu aguijón(CC)? 56 El aguijón de la muerte es el pecado(CD), y el poder del pecado es la ley(CE); 57 pero a Dios gracias(CF), que nos da la victoria por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo(CG). 58 Por tanto, mis amados hermanos(CH), estad firmes, constantes[af], abundando siempre en la obra del Señor(CI), sabiendo que vuestro trabajo en el Señor no es en vano.

Het belangrijkste nieuws: Christus is gestorven en weer levend geworden

15 Ik kom bij u met het goede nieuws dat ik u al eens eerder heb gebracht. U hebt het aangenomen en het is nu de basis van uw leven. 2 Als u blijft bij wat ik u heb gezegd, is dat uw redding. Anders had u net zo goed niet gelovig kunnen worden.

3 Het belangrijkste van het goede nieuws dat ik heb ontvangen en u heb doorgegeven, is dit: Christus is voor onze zonden gestorven, zoals voorzegd is in de Boeken. 4 Hij werd begraven en is op de derde dag weer levend gemaakt, wat ook in de Boeken stond. 5 Hij is gezien door Petrus en daarna door de twaalf apostelen samen. 6 Later is Hij gezien door vijfhonderd van zijn volgelingen tegelijk. Hoewel enkelen van hen al gestorven zijn, leven de meesten nog. 7 Hij is gezien door Jakobus en daarna nog eens door alle apostelen. 8 En als allerlaatste heb ik Hem ook gezien, ik, een onwaardige. 9 Ik ben de minste van alle apostelen en zou niet eens apostel mogen worden genoemd, omdat ik de Gemeente van God vervolgd heb. 10 Maar wat ik ben, ben ik omdat God zo goed voor mij is geweest. En dat was niet tevergeefs, want ik heb harder gewerkt dan de andere apostelen. Toch heb ik dat niet zelf gedaan, maar God deed het door zijn genade. 11 En het gaat niet om hen of mij. Waar het om gaat, is dat wij allemaal hetzelfde goede nieuws hebben gebracht en dat u het hebt aangenomen.

12 Als u nu het heerlijke nieuws hebt gehoord dat Christus weer levend is geworden, hoe kunnen sommigen van u dan zeggen dat er geen enkele dode ooit weer levend wordt? 13 Als zij gelijk hebben, is Christus ook niet uit de dood teruggekomen. 14 En als Hij niet uit de dood teruggekomen is, kunnen wij wel ophouden Hem bekend te maken, dan is het zinloos in Hem te geloven. 15 Erger nog, dan zijn wij bedriegers, omdat wij tegen God in hebben verklaard dat Hij Christus weer levend heeft gemaakt. Als er geen doden weer levend worden, kan dat niet waar zijn. 16 Als er geen doden levend worden, is Christus ook niet weer levend gemaakt. 17 En als Christus niet weer levend is geworden, dan heeft uw geloof geen betekenis en zijn uw zonden niet vergeven. 18 Ja, dan zijn de gestorven gelovigen reddeloos verloren. 19 Als wij alleen voor dit leven onze hoop op Christus hebben gevestigd, zijn wij meer te beklagen dan wie ook.

20 Maar zo is het gelukkig niet! Christus is weer levend gemaakt, als eerste van de velen die gestorven zijn. 21 Want zoals de dood door een mens is gekomen, is ook het nieuwe leven dankzij een mens gekomen. 22 Zoals alle mensen, als nakomelingen van Adam, sterven, zo zullen ook alle volgelingen van Christus levend worden gemaakt.

23 Ieder op zijn beurt, natuurlijk. Eerst is Christus Zelf levend geworden. En als Hij terugkomt, zullen allen die bij Hem horen, ook levend worden. 24 Daarna komt het einde. Wanneer Christus alle vijandige overheersing, gezag en macht heeft uitgeschakeld, zal Hij zijn koningschap aan God de Vader overdragen. 25 Christus moet net zo lang regeren tot Hij alle tegenstanders heeft onderworpen. 26 De laatste vijand die uitgeschakeld wordt, is de dood. 27 Want God heeft alles aan Christus onderworpen. Maar als God zegt dat Hij alles aan Christus onderworpen heeft, is Hij daar natuurlijk Zelf van uitgesloten. 28 En als alles eenmaal aan Christus onderworpen is, zal ook Hij Zich aan zijn Vader onderwerpen. Dan zal alles en iedereen volledig door God worden beheerst.

29 Als er geen doden weer levend worden gemaakt, waarom laten sommigen zich dan voor de doden dopen? 30 En waarom zouden wij dan nog één uur langer willens en wetens gevaar lopen? 31 Ikzelf sta elke dag oog in oog met de dood, vrienden. Dit zeg ik omdat ik er trots op ben dat u bij onze Here Jezus Christus hoort. 32 In Efeze heb ik bij wijze van spreken met de wilde beesten gevochten, op leven en dood. Menselijk bekeken, was dat zinloos. Als het waar is dat er geen doden weer levend worden gemaakt, laten we dan, zoals er geschreven staat: ‘eten, drinken en vrolijk zijn, want morgen sterven wij misschien.’ 33 Maar laat u niets wijsmaken. Slechte vrienden bederven goede zeden. 34 Word nuchter en houd op met zondigen. Tot uw beschaming moet ik zeggen: sommigen van u hebben geen kennis van God.

35 Ik hoor al iemand vragen: ‘Hoe worden de doden dan weer levend gemaakt? En wat voor lichaam hebben zij dan?’ 36 Wat een domme vraag! Wat u zaait, komt pas tot leven als het doodgaat. 37 U zaait niet een volgroeide plant, maar een kale graankorrel of iets anders. 38 God laat er de juiste plant uitkomen. Uit het ene zaad komt deze plant en uit het andere zaad die plant. 39 Elk vlees is niet gelijk, er is verschil tussen het vlees van mensen, vee, vogels en vissen. 40 Er zijn hemelse en aardse wezens, en de schoonheid van de hemelse is anders dan die van de aardse. 41 Zon, maan en sterren hebben een verschillende helderheid, en ook de sterren onderling verschillen in lichtsterkte. 42 Zo is het ook bij het levend worden van de doden. Iets vergankelijks wordt gezaaid, en iets onvergankelijks wordt tot leven geroepen. 43 Wat in de aarde wordt gelegd, is het aanzien niet waard. Maar wat levend wordt gemaakt, is schitterend. Wat in de aarde wordt gelegd, is tot niets in staat. Maar wat levend wordt gemaakt, heeft grote kracht.

44 Wat in de aarde wordt gelegd, is een natuurlijk lichaam. Maar wat levend wordt, is een geestelijk lichaam. Want als er een natuurlijk lichaam is, moet er ook een geestelijk lichaam zijn. 45 Er staat immers in de Boeken: ‘De eerste mens, Adam, werd een levend wezen.’ Maar Christus, de laatste Adam, werd een geest die zelf leven geeft. 46 Het natuurlijke lichaam komt eerst en daarna pas het geestelijke. 47 Adam, de eerste mens, werd uit stof van de aarde gemaakt. Christus, de tweede mens, kwam uit de hemel. 48 Alle mensen stammen af van Adam en hebben dus een aards lichaam, net als hij. Maar de mensen die uit Christus voortkomen, zullen een hemels lichaam krijgen, net als Hij. 49 Dus, zoals wij op de aardse Adam lijken, zullen wij ook op de hemelse Christus lijken.

50 Laat ik heel duidelijk zijn, broeders en zusters: lichamen van vlees en bloed kunnen geen deel hebben aan het Koninkrijk van God. Onze vergankelijke lichamen kunnen niet altijd blijven leven. 51 Wat ik u nu verder vertel, heeft God tot nog toe verborgen gehouden: wij, als gelovigen, zullen niet allemaal sterven, 52 maar wel allemaal in een oogwenk een nieuw lichaam krijgen op het moment dat de laatste bazuin klinkt. Ja, er zal het machtige geluid van een bazuin te horen zijn. Dan zullen de doden levend worden gemaakt met een onvergankelijk lichaam en ook wij zullen een nieuw lichaam krijgen. 53 Ons vergankelijke, sterfelijke lichaam zal verwisseld worden voor een onvergankelijk, onsterfelijk lichaam. 54 Wanneer dat gebeurt, wordt werkelijkheid wat in de Boeken staat: ‘De dood is opgeslokt in Gods grote overwinning,’ 55 en: ‘Dood, je kunt de overwinning wel vergeten. Dood, wat voor kwaad zul je nu nog doen?’ 56 De dood kan ons nu nog kwaad doen door de zonde. En de zonde is zo sterk omdat de wet bestaat. 57 Maar God zij dank! Hij geeft ons, door onze Here Jezus Christus, de overwinning over de zonde en de dood. 58 Dus, beste vrienden, sta vast en wees onverzettelijk. Blijf actief voor de Here. U weet toch dat het werk dat u onder zijn leiding doet, niet voor niets is.
