One Body with Many Members

¹² For just as ^(A)the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, ^(B)so it is with Christ. ¹³ For ^(C)in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—^(D)Jews or Greeks, slaves^[a] or free—and ^(E)all were made to drink of one Spirit.

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were ^(A)far off have been brought near ^(B)by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For ^(C)he himself is our peace, ^(D)who has made us both one and has broken down ^(E)in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility ¹⁵ by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ^(F)ordinances, that he might create in himself one ^(G)new man in place of the two, so making peace, ¹⁶ and might ^(H)reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. ¹⁷ And he came and ^(I)preached peace to you who were ^(J)far off and peace to those who were ^(K)near. ¹⁸ For ^(L)through him we both have ^(M)access in ^(N)one Spirit to the Father. ¹⁹ So then you are no longer ^(O)strangers and aliens,^[a] but you are ^(P)fellow citizens with the saints and ^(Q)members of the household of God, ^20 (R)built on the foundation of the ^(S)apostles and prophets, ^(T)Christ Jesus himself being ^(U)the cornerstone, ^21 (V)in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into ^(W)a holy temple in the Lord. ²² In him ^(X)you also are being built together ^(Y)into a dwelling place for God by^[b] the Spirit.

³ eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in ^(A)the bond of peace. ⁴ There is ^(B)one body and ^(C)one Spirit—just as you were called to the one ^(D)hope that belongs to your call— ^5 (E)one Lord, ^(F)one faith, ^(G)one baptism, ^6 (H)one God and Father of all, ^(I)who is over all and through all and in all.

¹³ He ^(A)has delivered us from ^(B)the domain of darkness and transferred us to ^(C)the kingdom of ^(D)his beloved Son, ^14 (E)in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

The Preeminence of Christ

^15 (F)He is the image of ^(G)the invisible God, ^(H)the firstborn of all creation. ¹⁶ For by^[a] him all things were created, ^(I)in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether ^(J)thrones or ^(K)dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created ^(L)through him and for him. ¹⁷ And ^(M)he is before all things, and in him all things ^(N)hold together. ¹⁸ And ^(O)he is the head of the body, the church. He is ^(P)the beginning, ^(Q)the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. ¹⁹ For ^(R)in him all the ^(S)fullness of God was pleased to dwell, ²⁰ and ^(T)through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, ^(U)making peace ^(V)by the blood of his cross.

^21 (W)And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, ^(X)doing evil deeds, ²² he has now reconciled ^(Y)in his body of flesh by his death, ^(Z)in order to present you holy and blameless and ^(AA)above reproach before him,
