¹⁰ Does he not certainly speak for our sake? It was written ^(A)for our sake, because ^(B)the plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of sharing in the crop.

⁶ It is ^(A)the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.

⁹ For we are ^(A)God's fellow workers. You are God's field, ^(B)God's building.

⁴ For ^(A)whatever was written in former days was written for our ^(B)instruction, that through endurance and through ^(C)the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

²³ But ^(A)the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, ²⁴ but for ours also. It will be counted to us ^(B)who believe in ^(C)him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,

¹⁵ For ^(A)it is all for your sake, so that as ^(B)grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, ^(C)to the glory of God.

³⁵ Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that ^(A)the fields are white for harvest. ³⁶ Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that ^(B)sower and ^(C)reaper ^(D)may rejoice together. ³⁷ For here the saying holds true, ^(E)‘One sows and another reaps.’ ³⁸ I sent you to reap ^(F)that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, ^(G)and you have entered into their labor.”

Unworthy Servants

⁷ “Will any one of you who has a servant^[a] plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? ⁸ Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and ^(A)dress properly,^[b] and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’?

²² And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for ^(A)the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
