⁴ For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; likewise, the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

¹¹ He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her,^{(A) 12} and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

⁹ And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”^[a](A)

³ And I said to her, “You must remain as mine for many days; you shall not prostitute yourself; you shall not have intercourse with a man, nor I with you.”
