¹³ God judges^[a] those outside. ^(A)“Purge the evil person from among you.”

^7 (A)The hand of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So ^(B)you shall purge^[a] the evil^[b] from your midst.

⁵ But ^(A)that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. ^(B)So you shall purge the evil^[a] from your midst.

^21 (A)Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. ^(B)So you shall purge the evil from your midst, ^(C)and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

¹⁷ If he refuses to listen to them, ^(A)tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, ^(B)let him be to you as ^(C)a Gentile and ^(D)a tax collector.

²⁴ then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor's wife. ^(A)So you shall purge the evil from your midst.

²¹ then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and ^(A)the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has ^(B)done an outrageous thing in Israel by whoring in her father's house. ^(C)So you shall purge the evil from your midst.

^22 (D)“If a man is found lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman. ^(E)So you shall purge the evil from Israel.

¹² The man who ^(A)acts presumptuously by not obeying the priest ^(B)who stands to minister there before the Lord your God, or the judge, that man shall die. So ^(C)you shall purge the evil from Israel.

⁵ you are ^(A)to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so ^(B)that his spirit may be saved ^(C)in the day of the Lord.^[a]
