Immorality Defiles the Church

5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even ^[a]named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s ^(A)wife!

^8 (A)But the cowardly, ^[a]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in ^(B)the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

²¹ And I gave her time ^(A)to ^[a]repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.

^5 (A)Therefore put to death ^(B)your members which are on the earth: ^(C)fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, ^(D)which is idolatry.

³ But fornication and all ^(A)uncleanness or ^(B)covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;

⁸ The nakedness of your ^(A)father’s wife you shall not uncover; it is your father’s nakedness.

¹⁹ Now ^(A)the works of the flesh are evident, which are: ^[a]adultery, ^[b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

¹¹ But now I have written to you not to keep company ^(A)with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—^(B)not even to eat with such a person.

⁷ For God did not call us to uncleanness, ^(A)but in holiness.

²¹ lest, when I come again, my God ^(A)will humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many ^(B)who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, ^(C)fornication, and lewdness which they have practiced.
