²⁴ Now as he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, ^(A)you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!”

^18 [a]Then certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, “What does this ^[b]babbler want to say?”

Others said, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods,” because he preached to them ^(A)Jesus and the resurrection.

¹⁴ If you are ^[a]reproached for the name of Christ, ^(A)blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. ^[b]On their part He is blasphemed, ^(B)but on your part He is glorified.

Avoid Worldly Wisdom

^18 (A)Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

^8 (A)Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, ^(B)who^[a] has also given us His Holy Spirit.

³ since you seek a proof of Christ ^(A)speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but mighty ^(B)in you. ^4 (C)For though He was crucified in weakness, yet ^(D)He lives by the power of God. For ^(E)we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.
