^7 (A)To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

^10 (A)As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, ^(B)as good stewards of God's varied grace: ¹¹ whoever speaks, as one who speaks ^(C)oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves ^(D)by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything ^(E)God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. ^(F)To him belong glory and ^(G)dominion forever and ever. Amen.

^6 (A)Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if ^(B)prophecy, ^(C)in proportion to our faith; ⁷ if ^(D)service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; ⁸ the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; ^(E)the one who leads,^[a] with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with ^(F)cheerfulness.

¹⁹ Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.

¹² So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.

¹⁷ For you may be giving thanks well enough, but the other person is not being built up.

²² Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign^[a] not for unbelievers but for believers. ²³ If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, ^(A)will they not say that you are out of your minds? ²⁴ But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, ^25 (B)the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, ^(C)falling on his face, he will worship God and ^(D)declare that God is really among you.

Orderly Worship

²⁶ What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has ^(E)a hymn, ^(F)a lesson, ^(G)a revelation, ^(H)a tongue, or ^(I)an interpretation. ^(J)Let all things be done for building up.

⁷ But ^(A)grace was given ^(B)to each one of us ^(C)according to the measure of Christ's gift. ⁸ Therefore it says,

⁹ (^(F)In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into ^(G)the lower regions, the earth?^{[b] 10} He who descended is the one who also ^(H)ascended ^(I)far above all the heavens, that he might ^(J)fill all things.) ¹¹ And ^(K)he gave the ^(L)apostles, the prophets, the ^(M)evangelists, the ^(N)shepherds^[c] and teachers,^{[d] 12 (O)}to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for ^(P)building up ^(Q)the body of Christ,

⁵ Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but ^(A)even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.
