³ So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.

² This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet^[a] acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. ³ But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.

¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah,^[a] the Son of the living God.”

¹⁷ Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John,^[b] because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.

⁵ It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.

⁹ If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

¹³ You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.

²⁶ “But I will send you the Advocate^[a]—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.

⁴³ Jesus responded, “Then why does David, speaking under the inspiration of the Spirit, call the Messiah ‘my Lord’? For David said,

⁶ But for us,

²³ the body must not remain hanging from the tree overnight. You must bury the body that same day, for anyone who is hung^[a] is cursed in the sight of God. In this way, you will prevent the defilement of the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession.
