For we are (A)the circumcision, (B)who worship [a]God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, though (C)I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I (D)more so: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, (E)of the tribe of Benjamin, (F)a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, (G)a Pharisee;

Brought Near by His Blood

11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called (A)the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

18 Seeing that many boast according to the flesh, I also will boast. 19 For you put up with fools gladly, (A)since you yourselves are wise! 20 For you put up with it (B)if one brings you into bondage, if one devours you, if one takes from you, if one exalts himself, if one strikes you on the face. 21 To our shame (C)I say that we were too weak for that! But (D)in whatever anyone is bold—I speak foolishly—I am bold also.

Israel’s Rejection and God’s Purpose(K)

(L)But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For (M)they are not all Israel who are of Israel, (N)nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, (O)“In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but (P)the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

Hurry now; for today he came to this city, because (A)there is a sacrifice of the people today (B)on the high place. 13 As soon as you come into the city, you will surely find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited will eat. Now therefore, go up, for about this time you will find him.”

13 And the priests’ custom with the people was that when any man offered a sacrifice, the priest’s servant would come with a three-pronged fleshhook in his hand while the meat was boiling. 14 Then he would thrust it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; and the priest would take for himself all that the fleshhook brought up. So they did in (A)Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there. 15 Also, before they (B)burned the fat, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who sacrificed, “Give meat for roasting to the priest, for he will not take boiled meat from you, but raw.”

16 And if the man said to him, “They should really burn the fat first; then you may take as much as your heart desires,” he would then answer him, “No, but you must give it now; and if not, I will take it by force.”

The Law of Peace Offerings

11 (A)‘This is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which he shall offer to the Lord: 12 If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer, with the sacrifice of thanksgiving, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, unleavened wafers (B)anointed with oil, or cakes of blended flour mixed with oil. 13 Besides the cakes, as his offering he shall offer (C)leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offering. 14 And from it he shall offer one cake from each offering as a heave offering to the Lord. (D)It shall belong to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering.

15 (E)‘The flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offering for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day it is offered. He shall not leave any of it until morning. 16 But (F)if the sacrifice of his offering is a vow or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offers his sacrifice; but on the next day the remainder of it also may be eaten; 17 the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day must be burned with fire.
