^24 (A)He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry,
And sets others in their place.

¹¹ The ^[a]lofty looks of man shall be ^(A)humbled,
The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down,
And the Lord alone shall be exalted ^(B)in that day.

¹⁷ The ^[a]loftiness of man shall be bowed down,
And the haughtiness of men shall be brought low;
The Lord alone will be exalted in that day,

¹⁹ Yet He ^(A)is not partial to princes,
Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor;
For ^(B)they are all the work of His hands.
²⁰ In a moment they die, ^(C)in the middle of the night;
The people are shaken and pass away;
The mighty are taken away without a hand.

¹² You shall seek them and not find them—
^[a]Those who contended with you.
Those who war against you
Shall be as nothing,
As a nonexistent thing.

¹³ The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters;
But God will ^(A)rebuke them and they will flee far away,
And ^(B)be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind,
Like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
¹⁴ Then behold, at eventide, trouble!
And before the morning, he is no more.
This is the portion of those who plunder us,
And the lot of those who rob us.
