¹⁴ But the person without the Spirit^[a] does not receive what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated^[b] spiritually.

¹⁴ So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were going to marry his daughters. “Get up,” he said. “Get out of this place, for the Lord is about to destroy the city!” ^(A) But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

⁸ For the Sadducees say there is no resurrection,^(A) and neither angel nor spirit, but the Pharisees affirm them all.
