Les descendants de Benjamin habitant à Jérusalem

Benjamin eut pour fils[a] : Béla, son premier-né, Ashbel, le deuxième, Ahrah, le troisième, Noha, le quatrième, et Rapha, le cinquième. Béla eut des fils : Addar, Guéra, Abihoud, Abishoua, Naaman, Ahoah, Guéra, Shephouphân et Houram.

6-7 Les fils d’Ehoud, Naaman, Ahiya et Guéra étaient les chefs de groupe familial des habitants de Guéba. Ceux-ci furent déplacés à Manahath. C’est Guéra qui les fit émigrer. Il eut pour fils Ouzza et Ahihoud.

Shaharaïm eut des enfants dans les plaines de Moab, après avoir renvoyé ses deux femmes Houshim et Baara. Il eut, de Hodesh, sa femme : Yobab, Tsibia, Mésha, Malkam, Yeouts, Sakia et Mirma. 10 Tels sont les fils de Shaharaïm qui devinrent des chefs de groupe familial.

11 De son épouse Houshim, il avait eu Abitoub et Elpaal. 12 Fils d’Elpaal : Eber, Misheam et Shémer qui bâtit Ono, Lod et les localités qui en dépendaient. 13 Beria et Shéma, qui étaient chefs de groupe familial parmi les habitants d’Ayalôn, mirent en fuite les habitants de Gath. 14 Puis : Ahyo, Shashaq, Yerémoth, 15 Zebadia, Arad, Eder, 16 Michaël, Yishpha et Yoha, les fils de Beria. 17 Puis : Zebadia, Meshoullam, Hizqi, Héber, 18 Yishmeraï, Yizliya et Yobab, les fils d’Elpaal. 19 Puis : Yaqim, Zikri, Zabdi, 20 Eliénaï, Tsiltaï, Eliel, 21 Adaya, Beraya et Shimrath, les fils de Shimeï, 22 Puis : Yishpân, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdôn, Zikri, Hanân, 24 Hanania, Elam, Antotiya, 25 Yiphdeya et Penouel, les fils de Shashaq. 26 Shamsheraï, Sheharia, Atalia, 27 Yaaréshia, Eliya et Zikri, les fils de Yeroham.

28 Ce sont là des chefs de groupe familial, chacun dans sa génération[b]. Ils habitaient à Jérusalem.

29 Le père de Gabaon[c] habitait à Gabaon. Sa femme s’appelait Maaka. 30 Abdôn fut son fils premier-né, puis vinrent Tsour, Qish, Baal[d], Nadab, 31 Guedor, Ahyo et Zéker. 32 Miqloth eut pour fils Shimea. Ces derniers habitaient eux aussi à Jérusalem, avec ceux qui leur étaient apparentés. 33 Ner eut pour fils Qish qui eut pour fils Saül ; les fils de Saül furent Jonathan, Malkishoua, Abinadab et Eshbaal[e]. 34 Jonathan eut pour fils Merib-Baal[f], qui eut pour fils Michée. 35 Fils de Michée : Pitôn, Mélek, Taréa et Ahaz. 36 Ahaz eut pour fils Yehoadda, qui eut pour fils : Alémeth, Azmaveth et Zimri. 37 Voici les descendants de Zimri en ligne directe : Motsa, Binea, Rapha, Eleasa, Atsel. 38 Atsel eut six fils, dont voici les noms : Azriqam, Bokrou, Ismaël, Shearia, Abdias et Hanân. Tels étaient les fils d’Atsel.

39 Esheq était le frère d’Atsel. Il eut pour fils Oulam, son premier-né, Yeoush, le deuxième, et Eliphéleth, le troisième. 40 Les fils d’Oulam furent des hommes de guerre valeureux, tireurs à l’arc ; ils eurent de nombreux fils et petits-fils : cent cinquante.

Tels étaient les descendants de Benjamin.

Benjamin’s Descendants

Benjamin(A) fathered Bela, his firstborn; Ashbel was born second, Aharah third, Nohah fourth, and Rapha fifth.

Bela’s sons: Addar, Gera, Abihud,[a] Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah, Gera, Shephuphan, and Huram.

These were Ehud’s sons, who were the heads of the families living in Geba and who were deported to Manahath: Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera. Gera deported them and was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.

Shaharaim had sons in the territory of Moab after he had divorced his wives Hushim and Baara. His sons by his wife Hodesh: Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malcam, 10 Jeuz, Sachia, and Mirmah. These were his sons, family heads. 11 He also had sons by Hushim: Abitub and Elpaal.

12 Elpaal’s sons: Eber, Misham, and Shemed who built Ono and Lod and its surrounding villages, 13 Beriah and Shema, who were the family heads of Aijalon’s residents and who drove out the residents of Gath, 14 Ahio,[b] Shashak, and Jeremoth.

15 Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, 16 Michael, Ishpah, and Joha were Beriah’s sons.

17 Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Izliah, and Jobab were Elpaal’s sons.

19 Jakim, Zichri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, 21 Adaiah, Beraiah, and Shimrath were Shimei’s sons.

22 Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdon, Zichri, Hanan, 24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, 25 Iphdeiah, and Penuel were Shashak’s sons.

26 Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, 27 Jaareshiah, Elijah, and Zichri were Jeroham’s sons.

28 These(B) were family heads, chiefs according to their family records; they lived in Jerusalem.

29 Jeiel[c](C) fathered Gibeon and lived in Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maacah. 30 Abdon was his firstborn son, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahio, Zecher, 32 and Mikloth who fathered Shimeah. These also lived opposite their relatives in Jerusalem, with their other relatives.

33 Ner fathered Kish, Kish fathered Saul, and Saul fathered Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.[d]

34 Jonathan’s son was Merib-baal,[e] and Merib-baal fathered Micah.

35 Micah’s sons: Pithon, Melech, Tarea, and Ahaz.

36 Ahaz fathered Jehoaddah, Jehoaddah fathered Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri, and Zimri fathered Moza.

37 Moza fathered Binea. His son was Raphah, his son Elasah, and his son Azel.

38 Azel had six sons, and these were their names: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were Azel’s sons.

39 His brother Eshek’s sons: Ulam was his firstborn, Jeush second, and Eliphelet third.

40 Ulam’s sons were valiant warriors and archers.[f] They had many sons and grandsons—150 of them.

All these were among Benjamin’s sons.

The Genealogy of Saul the Benjamite(A)

Benjamin(B) was the father of Bela his firstborn,

Ashbel the second son, Aharah the third,

Nohah the fourth and Rapha the fifth.

The sons of Bela were:

Addar,(C) Gera, Abihud,[a] Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,(D) Gera, Shephuphan and Huram.

These were the descendants of Ehud,(E) who were heads of families of those living in Geba and were deported to Manahath:

Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera, who deported them and who was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.

Sons were born to Shaharaim in Moab after he had divorced his wives Hushim and Baara. By his wife Hodesh he had Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malkam, 10 Jeuz, Sakia and Mirmah. These were his sons, heads of families. 11 By Hushim he had Abitub and Elpaal.

12 The sons of Elpaal:

Eber, Misham, Shemed (who built Ono(F) and Lod with its surrounding villages), 13 and Beriah and Shema, who were heads of families of those living in Aijalon(G) and who drove out the inhabitants of Gath.(H)

14 Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth, 15 Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, 16 Michael, Ishpah and Joha were the sons of Beriah.

17 Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Izliah and Jobab were the sons of Elpaal.

19 Jakim, Zikri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, 21 Adaiah, Beraiah and Shimrath were the sons of Shimei.

22 Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdon, Zikri, Hanan, 24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, 25 Iphdeiah and Penuel were the sons of Shashak.

26 Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, 27 Jaareshiah, Elijah and Zikri were the sons of Jeroham.

28 All these were heads of families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem.

29 Jeiel[b] the father[c] of Gibeon lived in Gibeon.(I)

His wife’s name was Maakah, 30 and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner,[d] Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahio, Zeker 32 and Mikloth, who was the father of Shimeah. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.

33 Ner(J) was the father of Kish,(K) Kish the father of Saul(L), and Saul the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab and Esh-Baal.[e](M)

34 The son of Jonathan:(N)

Merib-Baal,[f](O) who was the father of Micah.

35 The sons of Micah:

Pithon, Melek, Tarea and Ahaz.

36 Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah, Jehoaddah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza. 37 Moza was the father of Binea; Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son and Azel his son.

38 Azel had six sons, and these were their names:

Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel.

39 The sons of his brother Eshek:

Ulam his firstborn, Jeush the second son and Eliphelet the third. 40 The sons of Ulam were brave warriors who could handle the bow. They had many sons and grandsons—150 in all.
