2 Voici les fils d'Israël. Ruben, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issacar, Zabulon,
2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephthali, Gad et Aser.
3 Fils de Juda: Er, Onan, Schéla; ces trois lui naquirent de la fille de Schua, la Cananéenne. Er, premier-né de Juda, était méchant aux yeux de l'Éternel, qui le fit mourir.
4 Tamar, belle-fille de Juda, lui enfanta Pérets et Zérach. Total des fils de Juda: cinq.
5 Fils de Pérets: Hetsron et Hamul.
6 Fils de Zérach: Zimri, Éthan, Héman, Calcol et Dara. En tout: cinq. -
7 Fils de Carmi: Acar, qui troubla Israël lorsqu'il commit une infidélité au sujet des choses dévouées par interdit. -
8 Fils d'Éthan: Azaria.
9 Fils qui naquirent à Hetsron: Jerachmeel, Ram et Kelubaï.
10 Ram engendra Amminadab. Amminadab engendra Nachschon, prince des fils de Juda.
11 Nachschon engendra Salma. Salma engendra Boaz.
12 Boaz engendra Obed. Obed engendra Isaï.
13 Isaï engendra Éliab, son premier-né, Abinadab le second, Schimea le troisième,
14 Nethaneel le quatrième, Raddaï le cinquième,
15 Otsem le sixième, David le septième.
16 Leurs soeurs étaient: Tseruja et Abigaïl. Fils de Tseruja: Abischaï, Joab et Asaël, trois.
17 Abigaïl enfanta Amasa; le père d'Amasa fut Jéther, l'Ismaélite.
18 Caleb, fils de Hetsron, eut des enfants d'Azuba, sa femme, et de Jerioth. Voici les fils qu'il eut d'Azuba: Jéscher, Schobab et Ardon.
19 Azuba mourut; et Caleb prit Éphrath, qui lui enfanta Hur.
20 Hur engendra Uri, et Uri engendra Betsaleel. -
21 Ensuite, Hetsron alla vers la fille de Makir, père de Galaad, et il avait soixante ans lorsqu'il la prit; elle lui enfanta Segub.
22 Segub engendra Jaïr, qui eut vingt-trois villes dans le pays de Galaad.
23 Les Gueschuriens et les Syriens leur prirent les bourgs de Jaïr avec Kenath et les villes de son ressort, soixante villes. Tous ceux-là étaient fils de Makir, père de Galaad.
24 Après la mort de Hetsron à Caleb Éphratha, Abija, femme de Hetsron, lui enfanta Aschchur, père de Tekoa.
25 Les fils de Jerachmeel, premier-né de Hetsron, furent: Ram, le premier-né, Buna, Oren et Otsem, nés d'Achija.
26 Jerachmeel eut une autre femme, nommée Athara, qui fut mère d'Onam. -
27 Les fils de Ram, premier-né de Jerachmeel, furent: Maats, Jamin et Éker. -
28 Les fils d'Onam furent: Schammaï et Jada. Fils de Schammaï: Nadab et Abischur.
29 Le nom de la femme d'Abischur était Abichaïl, et elle lui enfanta Achban et Molid.
30 Fils de Nadab: Séled et Appaïm. Séled mourut sans fils.
31 Fils d'Appaïm: Jischeï. Fils de Jischeï: Schéschan. Fils de Schéschan: Achlaï. -
32 Fils de Jada, frère de Schammaï: Jéther et Jonathan. Jéther mourut sans fils.
33 Fils de Jonathan: Péleth et Zara. -Ce sont là les fils de Jerachmeel. -
34 Schéschan n'eut point de fils, mais il eut des filles. Schéschan avait un esclave égyptien nommé Jarcha.
35 Et Schéschan donna sa fille pour femme à Jarcha, son esclave, à qui elle enfanta Attaï.
36 Attaï engendra Nathan; Nathan engendra Zabad;
37 Zabad engendra Ephlal; Ephlal engendra Obed;
38 Obed engendra Jéhu; Jéhu engendra Azaria;
39 Azaria engendra Halets; Halets engendra Élasa;
40 Élasa engendra Sismaï; Sismaï engendra Schallum;
41 Schallum engendra Jekamja; Jekamja engendra Élischama.
42 Fils de Caleb, frère de Jerachmeel: Méscha, son premier-né, qui fut père de Ziph, et les fils de Maréscha, père d'Hébron.
43 Fils d'Hébron: Koré, Thappuach, Rékem et Schéma.
44 Schéma engendra Racham, père de Jorkeam. Rékem engendra Schammaï.
45 Fils de Schammaï: Maon; et Maon, père de Beth Tsur.
46 Épha, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Haran, Motsa et Gazez. Haran engendra Gazez.
47 Fils de Jahdaï: Réguem, Jotham, Guéschan, Péleth, Épha et Schaaph.
48 Maaca, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Schéber et Tirchana.
49 Elle enfanta encore Schaaph, père de Madmanna, et Scheva, père de Macbéna et père de Guibea. La fille de Caleb était Acsa.
50 Ceux-ci furent fils de Caleb: Schobal, fils de Hur, premier-né d'Éphrata, et père de Kirjath Jearim;
51 Salma, père de Bethléhem; Hareph, père de Beth Gader.
52 Les fils de Schobal, père de Kirjath Jearim, furent: Haroé, Hatsi Hammenuhoth.
53 Les familles de Kirjath Jearim furent: les Jéthriens, les Puthiens, les Schumathiens et les Mischraïens; de ces familles sont sortis les Tsoreathiens et les Eschthaoliens.
54 Fils de Salma: Bethléhem et les Nethophatiens, Athroth Beth Joab, Hatsi Hammanachthi, les Tsoreïns;
55 et les familles des scribes demeurant à Jaebets, les Thireathiens, les Schimeathiens et les Sucathiens. Ce sont les Kéniens, issus de Hamath, père de la maison de Récab.

De stam van Juda
2 Dit zijn de zonen van Israël: Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issaschar, Zebulon, 2 Dan, Jozef, Benjamin, Naftali, Gad en Aser. 3 De drie zonen van Juda waren: Er, Onan en Sela. Hun moeder was een dochter van Sua, een Kanaäniet. De Heer vond Er, de oudste zoon van Juda, een slecht mens. Daarom doodde Hij hem. 4 Tamar, de vrouw van Er, raakte toen in verwachting van Juda[a] en kreeg een tweeling: Perez en Zera. Juda had in totaal dus vijf zonen.
5 De zonen van Perez waren: Hezron en Hamul. 6 De vijf zonen van Zera waren: Zimri, Etan, Heman, Kalkol en Dara.
7 De zoon van Karmi was Achan. Achan bracht een ramp over Israël, doordat hij iets wat voor de Heer was, voor zichzelf had meegenomen.[b]
8 De zoon van Etan was Azarja.
9 Hezron kreeg zonen: Jerameël, Ram en Kaleb. 10 Ram kreeg een zoon: Amminadab. Amminadab kreeg een zoon: Nahesson, stamhoofd van de stam van Juda. 11 Nahesson kreeg een zoon: Salma. Salma kreeg een zoon: Boaz. 12 Boaz kreeg een zoon: Obed. Obed kreeg een zoon: Isaï. 13 De zonen van Isaï waren: de oudste zoon Eliab, zijn tweede zoon Abinadab, zijn derde zoon Simea, 14 zijn vierde zoon Netaneël, zijn vijfde zoon Raddai, 15 zijn zesde zoon Ozem, zijn zevende zoon David. 16 Zijn dochters waren: Zeruja en Abigaïl.
De drie zonen van Zeruja waren: Abisaï, Joab en Asaël. 17 Abigaïl trouwde met Jeter, uit de familie van Ismaël.[c] Ze kregen een zoon: Amasa.
18 Kaleb, de zoon van Hezron, trouwde met Azuba. Ze kregen een zoon: Jeriot. Jeriot kreeg zonen: Jeser, Sobab en Ardon. 19 Toen Azuba stierf, trouwde Kaleb met Efrat. Ze kregen een zoon: Hur. 20 Hur kreeg een zoon: Uri. Uri kreeg een zoon: Bezaleël.
21 Toen Hezron 60 jaar was, trouwde hij met de dochter van Machir (die vader werd van Gilead)[d] Ze kregen een zoon: Segub. 22 Segub kreeg een zoon: Jaïr. Jaïr bezat 23 dorpen in het land Gilead. 23 Maar later veroverden Gesur en Aram de dorpen van Jaïr. Ook veroverden ze Kenat met de dorpen die daarbij hoorden. Dat waren 60 dorpen. Die waren allemaal van Machir, de vader van Gilead. 24 Maar toen Hezron al gestorven was (in Kaleb-Efrata), kreeg zijn vrouw Abia alsnog Hezrons zoon: Ashur (die vader werd van Tekoa).
25 Jerameël, de oudste zoon van Hezron, kreeg zonen: zijn oudste zoon Ram, verder Buna, Oren, Ozem en Ahia. 26 Jerameël had een bijvrouw, die Atara heette. Zij kreeg een zoon: Onam.
27 Ram, de oudste zoon van Jerameël, kreeg zonen: Maäz, Jamin en Eker. 28 De zonen van Onam waren: Sammai en Jada. De zonen van Sammai waren: Nadab en Abisur.
29 Abisur trouwde met Abichaïl. Hun zonen waren: Achban en Molid. 30 De zonen van Nadab waren: Seled en Appaïm. Seled kreeg geen kinderen. 31 De zoon van Appaïm was Jiseï. De zoon van Jiseï was Sesan. De zoon van Sesan was Alai.
32 De zonen van Jada, de broer van Sammai, waren: Jeter en Jonatan. Jeter kreeg geen kinderen. 33 De zonen van Jonatan waren: Pelet en Zaza. Dit zijn de kleinzonen van Jerameël.
34 Sesan had geen zonen, maar alleen dochters. Sesan had een Egyptische dienaar, die Jara heette. 35 Sesan liet zijn dochter met zijn dienaar Jara trouwen. Hun zoon heette Attai. 36 Attai kreeg een zoon: Natan. Natan kreeg een zoon: Zabad. 37 Zabad kreeg een zoon: Eflal. Eflal kreeg een zoon: Obed. 38 Obed kreeg een zoon: Jehu. Jehu kreeg een zoon: Azarja. 39 Azarja kreeg een zoon: Helez. Helez kreeg een zoon: Elasa. 40 Elasa kreeg een zoon: Sismai. Sismai kreeg een zoon: Sallum. 41 Sallum kreeg een zoon: Jekamja. Jekamja kreeg een zoon: Elisama.
42 Kaleb, de broer van Jerameël, kreeg zonen: zijn oudste zoon Mesa (die vader werd van Zif), en Maresa (die vader werd van Hebron).
43 De zonen van Hebron waren: Korach, Tappuach, Rekem en Sema. 44 Sema kreeg een zoon: Racham (die vader werd van Jorkeam). Rekem kreeg een zoon: Sammai. 45 De zoon van Sammai was Maon (die vader werd van Bet-Zur).
46 Kaleb had een bijvrouw, Efa. Zij kreeg zonen: Haran, Moza en Gazez. Haran kreeg een zoon: Gazez. 47 De zonen van Jedai waren: Regem, Jotam, Gesan, Pelet, Efa en Saäf. 48 Kalebs andere bijvrouw Maächa kreeg ook zonen: Seber en Tirchana. 49 Verder kreeg ze Saäf (die vader werd van Madmanna), Seva (die vader werd van Machbena en Gibea). Kaleb had ook een dochter: Achsa.
50 Dit zijn nog meer zonen van Kaleb en Efrata: Efrata's oudste zoon Hur kreeg zonen: Sobal (die vader werd van Kirjat-Jearim), 51 Salma (die vader werd van Betlehem), en Haref (die vader werd van Bet-Gader). 52 Van Sobal, de vader van Kirjat-Jearim, stamde de bevolking van Haroë af en de helft van de bewoners van Menuchot. 53 Uit Kirjat-Jearim ontstonden de families van Jeter, Put, Suma en Misra. En uit hen ontstonden de families van Sora en Estaol.
54 Van Salma stammen de families van Betlehem, Netofa en Atrot-Bet-Joab af. Verder de andere helft van de bewoners van Menuchat, de Zorieten 55 en in Jabes de families waarvan de mannen schrijver waren.[e] Dat waren de families van Tira, Simea en Suka. Zij waren Kenieten[f] uit de familie van Hammat, van wie ook de familie van Rechab afstamt.

4 And Tamar his daughter in law bore him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

21 And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.
22 And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.
23 And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
24 And after that Hezron was dead in Calebephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.
25 And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.
26 Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27 And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.
28 And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab and Abishur.
29 And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.
30 And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children.
31 And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.
32 And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.
33 And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
34 Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
35 And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.
36 And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,
37 And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,

47 And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and Gesham, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.
48 Maachah, Caleb's concubine, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah.
49 She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsa.
50 These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim.
51 Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Bethgader.
52 And Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.
53 And the families of Kirjathjearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites,
54 The sons of Salma; Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.
55 And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.

2 These were the sons of Israel:
Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad and Asher.
Judah(B)
To Hezron’s Sons
3 The sons of Judah:(C)
Er, Onan and Shelah.(D) These three were born to him by a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua.(E) Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.(F) 4 Judah’s daughter-in-law(G) Tamar(H) bore Perez(I) and Zerah to Judah. He had five sons in all.
5 The sons of Perez:(J)
Hezron(K) and Hamul.
6 The sons of Zerah:
Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol and Darda[a]—five in all.
7 The son of Karmi:
Achar,[b](L) who brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on taking devoted things.[c](M)
8 The son of Ethan:
Azariah.
9 The sons born to Hezron(N) were:
Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.[d]
From Ram Son of Hezron
10 Ram(O) was the father of
Amminadab(P), and Amminadab the father of Nahshon,(Q) the leader of the people of Judah. 11 Nahshon was the father of Salmon,[e] Salmon the father of Boaz, 12 Boaz(R) the father of Obed and Obed the father of Jesse.(S)
13 Jesse(T) was the father of
Eliab(U) his firstborn; the second son was Abinadab, the third Shimea, 14 the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai, 15 the sixth Ozem and the seventh David. 16 Their sisters were Zeruiah(V) and Abigail. Zeruiah’s(W) three sons were Abishai, Joab(X) and Asahel. 17 Abigail was the mother of Amasa,(Y) whose father was Jether the Ishmaelite.
Caleb Son of Hezron
18 Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah (and by Jerioth). These were her sons: Jesher, Shobab and Ardon. 19 When Azubah died, Caleb(Z) married Ephrath, who bore him Hur. 20 Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri the father of Bezalel.(AA)
21 Later, Hezron, when he was sixty years old, married the daughter of Makir the father of Gilead.(AB) He made love to her, and she bore him Segub. 22 Segub was the father of Jair, who controlled twenty-three towns in Gilead. 23 (But Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair,[f](AC) as well as Kenath(AD) with its surrounding settlements—sixty towns.) All these were descendants of Makir the father of Gilead.
24 After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Abijah the wife of Hezron bore him Ashhur(AE) the father[g] of Tekoa.
Jerahmeel Son of Hezron
25 The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron:
Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem and[h] Ahijah. 26 Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27 The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel:
Maaz, Jamin and Eker.
28 The sons of Onam:
Shammai and Jada.
The sons of Shammai:
Nadab and Abishur.
29 Abishur’s wife was named Abihail, who bore him Ahban and Molid.
30 The sons of Nadab:
Seled and Appaim. Seled died without children.
31 The son of Appaim:
Ishi, who was the father of Sheshan.
Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.
32 The sons of Jada, Shammai’s brother:
Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without children.
33 The sons of Jonathan:
Peleth and Zaza.
These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.
34 Sheshan had no sons—only daughters.
He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha. 35 Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore him Attai.
36 Attai was the father of Nathan,
Nathan the father of Zabad,(AF)
37 Zabad the father of Ephlal,
Ephlal the father of Obed,
38 Obed the father of Jehu,
Jehu the father of Azariah,
39 Azariah the father of Helez,
Helez the father of Eleasah,
40 Eleasah the father of Sismai,
Sismai the father of Shallum,
41 Shallum the father of Jekamiah,
and Jekamiah the father of Elishama.
The Clans of Caleb
42 The sons of Caleb(AG) the brother of Jerahmeel:
Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and his son Mareshah,[i] who was the father of Hebron.
43 The sons of Hebron:
Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema. 44 Shema was the father of Raham, and Raham the father of Jorkeam. Rekem was the father of Shammai. 45 The son of Shammai was Maon(AH), and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.(AI)
46 Caleb’s concubine Ephah was the mother of Haran, Moza and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez.
47 The sons of Jahdai:
Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph.
48 Caleb’s concubine Maakah was the mother of Sheber and Tirhanah. 49 She also gave birth to Shaaph the father of Madmannah(AJ) and to Sheva the father of Makbenah and Gibea. Caleb’s daughter was Aksah.(AK) 50 These were the descendants of Caleb.
The sons of Hur(AL) the firstborn of Ephrathah:
Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim,(AM) 51 Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth Gader.
52 The descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim were:
Haroeh, half the Manahathites, 53 and the clans of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites,(AN) Puthites, Shumathites and Mishraites. From these descended the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.
54 The descendants of Salma:
