1 Chronicles 9:25-27

New International Version

²⁵Their fellow Levites in their villages had to come from time to time and share their duties for seven-day^(A) periods. ²⁶But the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries^(B) in the house of God. ²⁷They would spend the night stationed around the house of God,^(C) because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key^(D) for opening it each morning.

²⁵And their kinsmen who were ^(A)in their villages were obligated to come ^(B)in every seven days, in turn, to be with these, ²⁶for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted to be over ^(C)the chambers and the treasures of the house of God. ²⁷And they lodged around the house of God, for on them lay the duty of watching, and ^(D)they had charge of opening it every morning.
