A Genealogy of Saul
8 (A)Benjamin fathered Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, (B)Aharah the third, 2 Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the fifth. 3 And Bela had sons: Addar, Gera, Abihud, 4 Abishua, (C)Naaman, Ahoah, 5 Gera, (D)Shephuphan, and Huram. 6 These are the sons of Ehud (they were heads of fathers' houses of the inhabitants of Geba, and they were carried into exile to (E)Manahath): 7 Naaman,[a] Ahijah, and Gera, that is, Heglam, who fathered[b] Uzza and Ahihud. 8 And Shaharaim fathered sons in the country of Moab after he had sent away Hushim and Baara his wives. 9 He fathered sons by Hodesh his wife: Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malcam, 10 Jeuz, Sachia, and Mirmah. These were his sons, heads of fathers' houses. 11 He also fathered sons by Hushim: Abitub and Elpaal. 12 The sons of Elpaal: Eber, Misham, and Shemed, who built (F)Ono and (G)Lod with its towns, 13 and Beriah and (H)Shema (they were heads of fathers' houses of the inhabitants of (I)Aijalon, who caused the inhabitants of Gath to flee); 14 and Ahio, Shashak, and Jeremoth. 15 Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, 16 Michael, Ishpah, and Joha were sons of Beriah. 17 Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Izliah, and Jobab were the sons of Elpaal. 19 Jakim, Zichri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, 21 Adaiah, Beraiah, and Shimrath were the sons of Shimei. 22 Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdon, Zichri, Hanan, 24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, 25 Iphdeiah, and Penuel were the sons of Shashak. 26 Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, 27 Jaareshiah, Elijah, and Zichri were the sons of Jeroham. 28 These were the heads of fathers' houses, according to their generations, chief men. These lived in Jerusalem.
29 (J)(K)Jeiel[c] the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon, and the name of his wife was Maacah. 30 His firstborn son: Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahio, Zecher, 32 and Mikloth (he fathered Shimeah). Now these also lived opposite their kinsmen in Jerusalem, with their kinsmen. 33 (L)Ner was the father of Kish, Kish of Saul, Saul of (M)Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab and Eshbaal; 34 and the son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal was the father of (N)Micah. 35 The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tarea, and Ahaz. 36 Ahaz fathered Jehoaddah, and Jehoaddah fathered Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri. Zimri fathered Moza. 37 Moza fathered Binea; Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son. 38 Azel had six sons, and these are their names: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel. 39 The sons of Eshek his brother: Ulam his firstborn, Jeush the second, and Eliphelet the third. 40 The sons of Ulam were men who were mighty warriors, bowmen, having many sons and grandsons, 150. All these were Benjaminites.

The Genealogy of Saul the Benjamite(A)
8 Benjamin(B) was the father of Bela his firstborn,
Ashbel the second son, Aharah the third,
2 Nohah the fourth and Rapha the fifth.
3 The sons of Bela were:
Addar,(C) Gera, Abihud,[a] 4 Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,(D) 5 Gera, Shephuphan and Huram.
6 These were the descendants of Ehud,(E) who were heads of families of those living in Geba and were deported to Manahath:
7 Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera, who deported them and who was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.
8 Sons were born to Shaharaim in Moab after he had divorced his wives Hushim and Baara. 9 By his wife Hodesh he had Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malkam, 10 Jeuz, Sakia and Mirmah. These were his sons, heads of families. 11 By Hushim he had Abitub and Elpaal.
12 The sons of Elpaal:
Eber, Misham, Shemed (who built Ono(F) and Lod with its surrounding villages), 13 and Beriah and Shema, who were heads of families of those living in Aijalon(G) and who drove out the inhabitants of Gath.(H)
14 Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth, 15 Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, 16 Michael, Ishpah and Joha were the sons of Beriah.
17 Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Izliah and Jobab were the sons of Elpaal.
19 Jakim, Zikri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, 21 Adaiah, Beraiah and Shimrath were the sons of Shimei.
22 Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdon, Zikri, Hanan, 24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, 25 Iphdeiah and Penuel were the sons of Shashak.
26 Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, 27 Jaareshiah, Elijah and Zikri were the sons of Jeroham.
28 All these were heads of families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem.
29 Jeiel[b] the father[c] of Gibeon lived in Gibeon.(I)
His wife’s name was Maakah, 30 and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner,[d] Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahio, Zeker 32 and Mikloth, who was the father of Shimeah. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.
33 Ner(J) was the father of Kish,(K) Kish the father of Saul(L), and Saul the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab and Esh-Baal.[e](M)
34 The son of Jonathan:(N)
Merib-Baal,[f](O) who was the father of Micah.
35 The sons of Micah:
Pithon, Melek, Tarea and Ahaz.
36 Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah, Jehoaddah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza. 37 Moza was the father of Binea; Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son and Azel his son.
38 Azel had six sons, and these were their names:
Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel.
39 The sons of his brother Eshek:
Ulam his firstborn, Jeush the second son and Eliphelet the third. 40 The sons of Ulam were brave warriors who could handle the bow. They had many sons and grandsons—150 in all.
All these were the descendants of Benjamin.(P)

Benjamins slægt
8 Benjamin fik følgende sønner i rækkefølge efter alder: Bela, Ashbel, Ahiram, 2 Noha og Rafa. 3 Fra Bela nedstammer slægtsoverhovederne Addar, Gera, Abihud, 4 Abishua, Na’aman, Ahoa, 5 Gera, Shefufan og Huram.
6-7 Ehuds sønner Na’aman, Ahija og Gera var slægtsoverhoveder for dem, der boede i Geba. Men befolkningen blev drevet bort og flyttede til Manahat. Gera, som blev far til Uzza og Ahihud, var deres leder.[a]
8-10 Shaharajim lod sig skille fra sine koner, Hushim og Ba’ara, og flyttede til Moabs land, hvor han giftede sig med Hodesh, og fra ham nedstammer slægtsoverhovederne Jobab, Zibja, Mesha, Malkam, Jeutz, Sakeja og Mirma.
11 Med Hushim havde Shaharajim tidligere fået sønnerne Abitub og Elpa’al. 12 Elpa’al fik sønnerne Eber, Misham og Shemed. Sidstnævnte grundlagde byerne Ono og Lod med tilhørende landsbyer. 13 Desuden fik han sønnerne Beria og Shema, der var overhoveder for den del af slægten, som slog sig ned i Ajjalon og fordrev Gats indbyggere. 14 Elpa’al fik også sønnerne Shashak og Jeremot.[b]
15-16 Fra Beria nedstammer følgende slægtsoverhoveder: Zebadja, Arad, Eder, Mikael, Jishpa og Joha.
17-18 Fra Elpa’al nedstammer Zebadja, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, Jishmeraj, Jizlia og Jobab.
19-21 Fra Shimi nedstammer Jakim, Zikri, Zabdi, Elienaj, Zilletaj, Eliel, Adaja, Beraja og Shimrat.
22-25 Fra Shashak nedstammer Jishpan, Eber, Eliel, Abdon, Zikri, Hanan, Hananja, Elam, Antotija, Jifdeja og Penuel.
26-27 Fra Jeroham nedstammer Shamsheraj, Sheharja, Atalja, Ja’areshja, Elija og Zikri. 28 De var slægtsoverhoveder i Benjamins slægt, og de boede alle i Jerusalem.
Folkene i Gibeon og Sauls slægt
29 En mand ved navn Jeiel[c] grundlagde byen Gibeon og bosatte sig der sammen med sin kone Ma’aka. 30 Hans sønner var i rækkefølge efter alder: Abdon, Zur, Kish, Ba’al, Ner,[d] Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahjo, Zeker[e] og Miklot. 32 Miklot blev far til Shima. De boede alle sammen tæt ved deres slægtninge i Jerusalem.
33 Ner blev far til Kish,[f] og Kish blev far til Saul. Saul fik sønnerne Jonatan, Malkishua, Abinadab og Eshba’al. 34 Jonatan fik sønnen Meribba’al,[g] som fik sønnen Mika. 35 Mika fik sønnerne Piton, Melek, Tarea og Ahaz.
36 Ahaz blev far til Jeho’adda, som blev far til Alemet, Azmavet og Zimri.
Zimri blev far til Moza, 37 som blev far til Bina. Bina blev far til Rafa, som blev far til Elasa, som igen blev far til Atzel.
38 Atzel fik sønnerne Azrikam, Bokeru, Jishmael, Shearja, Obadja og Hanan.
39 Atzels bror Eshek fik sønnerne Ulam, Jeush og Elifelet. 40 Ulams sønner var dygtige bueskytter, og han havde ualmindeligt mange børn og børnebørn, i alt 150. Alle de her nævnte personer tilhørte Benjamins stamme.
